they are not ranked 9th in the country but ranked 9th overall. wtf. pat chambers has always recruited well but not fantastic. which means he gets good players but players who aren't good enough to jump to the nba early. which means they have some very good upper classman with experience. sprinkle in same grad transfers and a few overachieving scrappy bodies, you have a deep team with a good bench.
this season would only be the 5th time psu qualified for the ncaa tournament is my life time. how sad is that.
east region finals and semi finals is in madison square garden. psu is a huge draw in new york. just a smidge under a billion penn state alumni live within a reasonably easy commute of new york city. psu always plays well at msg. the home court advantage is partially why they won two NIT titles in the last 10 years. if psu is fortunate enough to make the sweet 16, they would essentially have 2 home games to advance to the final four. if the powers to be have a heart, penn state will be placed in the east region. would take a lower seeding to be put in the east region.

I once recently thought Wisky would be lucky to finish at .500 and MAYBE get a slot in the NIT and yet today Lunardi has them as a four seed. Hard to believe. Win Sat and they may have a 1 seed to the B1 Tourney. Hard to believe.
