My First Daughter Has Covid-19

My oldest daughter tested positive for Covid-19. She began to feel bad on Friday night, thought she had the flu on Saturday, and developed a fever on Sunday morning. Off to the hospital for a test and back home in isolation upstairs. The hospital called Sunday afternoon and told her she did have Covid-19.
My son-in-law took himself and their two children back to the hospital Sunday afternoon for testing, then home to isolation in various rooms of the house. By Monday morning their tests were all negative but all are now isolated for ten days.
My daughter said this feels like the worst flu she has ever had. She is eating little because she can't taste anything. Her fever was 102 Sunday night, but down to 99 by Monday morning. She said that walking up or down a flight of stairs tires her so that she must sit and rest. She is very healthy (runs five miles three times a week or more) and I think she will be ok because of this. She said they are all wearing masks and gloves and sanitizing everything they touch. Yesterday she went in the back yard and sat with the dogs and the rest of the family came out and played football on the other side of the yard. First time she saw them since Sunday morning. Her hubby had made her a pot of coffee and it was on a table by her chair when she went outside.

Sounds like she's been healthy, and I guess that helps with the recovery...Praying it's a quick one. I don't recall you mentioning before if your immediate family is close to you, geographically, or like the rest of us and spread all over the country. Sometimes, daddy's girl just needs to hear that voice to know she's going to be ok. Good luck...

Prayers for your daughter and her family Cowboy. Hope she has a quick and complete recovery immediately. I know a few people who have been told they tested positive for the virus but none of them had any extended or severe symptoms. When my wife and I were wintering in Arizona last winter a lot of people in our resort community came down with something, wife and me included. This was the end of January and first part of February. I have never coughed so much or hard as I did then. It lasted for almost 2 weeks. A lot of snowbirds experience what has been called the "Valley Crud" when wintering in Phoenix/Mesa area every year but we always thought it was the poor air quality. Anyhow, we recovered and are feeling fine now, but we wonder what it was we had. Again, hope your daughter is up to her old self soon and feeling better.

That crap kicks off USUALLY around June/July with the "MONSOON" (ha ha this year) season...especially when the big dust storms come in.  We talk about inhaling that dessicated rattlesnake that died & got buried in 1852...
The docs are still trying to figure out Valley Fever, both causes & cures...

Daughter is ok now. Breathing is good and no fever for 5 days. Her doctor gave her the ok to go back to her normal routine. she will be back in class teaching her students today.
