I haven't posted much about hockey this season but what a magical season it turned out to be. Tampa Bay Lightning, 2020 Stanley Cup Champions!#GoBolts Of note for Badger fans, former Wisconsin Badgers' men’s hockey captain Ryan McDonagh helped the Tampa Bay Lightning win the Stanley Cup. McDonagh became the fifteenth former Badger to have his name etched on to Lord Stanley’s Cup. McDonagh, a St. Paul, Minn. native, had one goal (a game winner) and four assists over 22 playoff games for Tampa and was a steady veteran presence on the blue line for the Bolts. As an aside, former Badger Joe Pavelski, who led the Stars, scored his 61st career playoff goal on Saturday, which put him alone in first place for American-born players in NHL history.
Edit: 15 players for a total of 21 times that they have been etched on the cup. I believe that, 21 times, is #1 re US CH teams.
