....Sorry, no pics on this one...
I took some pulled pork and queso fresco pressed into masa for that Salvadoran treat papusas puerco with refritos frijoles, arroz amarillo and curtados. (Pork and chees papusas, refried beans, yellow rice and cabbage salad.)
You guys need to find a Salvadoran restaurant some time and try some authentic papusas.

So you know how sometimes you go hiking and you don't see a bear but you know there's been one in the area because....well.......there are "leavings"? Well you guys who doubt that last night's dinner exists....here are the "leavings".....

Tell me about the frijoles refritos. I had a friend with a Mexican wife and she'd make homemade he'd bring to work that blew the canned stuff away. Is that stuff in the pic homemade? Homemade, of course. I did start with canned beans due to time constraints. cooked the beans with some fatback, cooled a bit, run through the food processor. Then I sauteed some onions & ground up (dried) red pepper, black pepper, sea salt. back into the pot to heat them through & blend the flavors....served in a small bowl with queso fresco and Cholula hot sauce.

I'd just suggest browning it first....for BOTH dishes.

I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what.....I had the same problem Walt. I have had the account for some time ,but haven't used it in awhile. When I finally got signed back into it I had to clik the" Return to original version" button to get it to work. For some reason the newer version wouldn't work on my puter.
