Here's my problem with Tamu. They lost to BAMA by 4 TDs. Other than UF, the record of the all the teams they have beaten (or will likely beat tomorrow) is 17-43. Only Auburn is at or above .500 and AU looks awful...a lot. That's some REALLY BAD opponents. So the 'larger number of games' argument rings pretty hollow to me. BUT...that leaves us with the 3 point, last second USC-style win against UF, which is a nice addition to the resume and bumps them ahead of USC, but not by much. Still, 5-0 playing for 6-0. C'mon man, you can't believe that it is right that Ohio State deserves that much more consideration than USC. Texas A&M has played 8 games, 7-1. That's 3 more games than Ohio State. Their record against the CFP current top 10 ranked teams is 1-1. Texas A&M at -14 will likely move to 8-1 after playing at Tennessee tomorrow. Ohio State has played zero games against the current CFP top 10 ranked teams. USC is in the same boat, zero wins against the current CFP top 10. There is no reason why Ohio State is getting more consideration than USC. I say move the bucknuts out of the top 4 and down to the area where USC is ranked. I'd put OSU's win over IU at the same level as Tamu's win over UF. (The Gators have no business being in the top 10 after losing to LSU and should be ranked below IU). That leaves Tamu's 4 TD loss to Bama and 5-1/2 doormat wins to OSU's 4 doormat wins. Not much to go on either way, frankly.

Ohio State shouldn't be #4. The bucknuts haven't been tested by a full schedule in a difficult season to know how good they are. Given the number of players down for games and the larger number of games played, other teams, say Texas A&M, should be occupying that spot right now. I wouldn't have the bucknuts in the top 10 at 5-0 at this stage of the season. Williegirl is right, Ohio State doesn't deserve any more attention than Southern California. If it weren't for being butt buddies with the B1G, the PAC 12 would be screaming about the injustice. Texas A/M beat the worst team in the country in Vanderbilt and won by 5 points___Yes OSU beat Indiana by only 7 but they were the #10 ranked team in the country

Of course, USC made the point moot last night. Florida is 1-1 against current top 10. That's why the Gators are ranked where they are. With a win over Alabama, Florida will be 2-1 against the current top 10 and will have the best win of any team in the nation. It's not too hard to point out your bs. If you are in the SEC, the only doormat you play is Vanderbilt and they play a spirited game in Nashville. Your hatred of the SEC shows through.

Condolences, Walt. That was a pretty good game last night, and I thought USC had a good chance to at least bring the game to OT. An incredibly miraculous INT took it away from them.

I highly doubt tOSU would have done any better than the Aggies in Tuscaloosa against the Tide. You keep pointing out Indiana, truly a one hit wonder this year, but the Hoosiers aren't in the current CFP top 10. The only ranking that matters right now is the CFP ranking until they decide on the top 4 teams at noon ET tomorrow. The next AP and Coaches polls that matter will be the season ending polls. Texas A&M is 1-1 against the current CFP top 10 while Ohio State is 0-0. The Aggies have a better win than the bucknuts plus the loss at Alabama is mitigated as it came early on and against the now judged by the results best team in the nation. The Aggies have also played 3 more games than the bucknuts. Those games matter.

The Aggies have also played 3 more games than the bucknuts. Those games matter. The Aggies better win goes bye bye later today when Alabama steamrolls your overrated team. And since aTm's game with Ole Miss was canceled, they will have only played two more games than Ohio State. What argument will you have then? I love the mitigated nonsense/spin, though. That means they have a "quality loss" on their resume, I guess? LOL! They do have the advantage over Ohio State there since the Buckeyes have, you know, zero losses.
