Got My 1st Covid Shot Finally

After trying for two weeks and signing onto three covid-19 vaccine site waiting lists, i finally was able to schedule an appointment for my first shot. It will be on March 31, in Centre, Alabama. 64 miles away from home. Alabama still hasn't used up half the vaccine that has been shipped to the state, but it has all been reserved for 2nd shots and no first shots are currently being given. What a screwed up mess it is here.

My Sweetheart, who is 12 years younger than me, will not be able to schedule in our county for another month. We went on the site for the county where I'm going and got her an appointment for April 7. She will go on March 31 when I go for my first shot and we will try to talk them into zapping her the same day. We will then have to go back to the same location for our 2nd shots. at least we're making progress.

My 57 year old wife gets her second shot on March 3rd. I told the story of how she got the 1st one elsewhere so I won't repeat that here.
Anyway, almost everyone she knows who's gotten both shots say the 2nd one knocks them for a loop. Flu-like symptoms from semi-mild to severe with vomiting.
I'm hoping that won't be the case with the two of you.

Everyone I know, except my 93 yr old father, basically veg'ed for 24 hrs with fever, headache and body pain after 2nd.
Don 't know anyone who was nauseated though.
My dad? Like nothing happened. Go figure.

Well, things are looking up for me. I called another county today and am scheduled for March 10. It's still about a two hour drive but there's a great restaurant there I like for lunch. Can't get vaccination there for My Sweetheart (she is under 65) but we'll try closer places next week.

Got shot #1 this morning. Got there about 9:00 for a 10:15 appointment. They took me right in and I was out by 9:45. I barely felt the needle, and no soreness at all. I go back for my 2nd shot April 7.
got the Moderna vaccine.

it's like that a lot of places.  not just alabama.

got the Moderna vaccine.

Did the phz shot last Friday. On 5 puter lists no joy. So I walked a cpl of miles to the Hosp and signed up for the no show list. The list called by age. Got called first. Back again in 3 weeks. Spouse got hers on Saturday which was scheduled.

One week after the shot, my wife, last night, spent the evening w an up and down fever and severe shivers. Called her highly rated nurse buddy who said to stay hydrated and take a regime of Tylenol. And call her in the morning. LOL Could have been the shot or not. She woke up fine. I never had any symptoms.

Got my second shot this week of moderna this week. Thought I got lucky bc I felt fine shortly afterwards. But about 15 hours after the shot I started feeling off. Had some muscle aches and a low fever but nothing too bad. Didn’t last too long though.

How does someone as young as you go to the front of the line? I'm 63 and still don't qualify even though I have some seasonal asthma issues.
