C&P from elsewhere... "Thought I'd post this out of an abundance of caution. S&W has issued a recall for their Shield 9mm EZ and Shield 380 EZ. I have one of each and my 9mm was in the recall. If you have an EZ that was made between 1 MAR 20 and 31 OCT 20 you may be in the recall. The date is on the box your gun came in along with the serial no. The recall is for possible defective hammer (the EZs have an internal hammer). It can crack at the base and lead to an unintentional discharge w/o a trigger pull. (No bueno!) I'll post the link to check your serial number. Just enter the number and it will tell you immediately if that gun is subject to the recall. My 9mm was but the 380 was not. The only S&W I have is a Model 13 3" from 1982. Really sweet revolver. Does it have a round butt? If so, it is identical to my wife's stainless Model 65. The round butt, 3" heavy barrel Model 13 was the last revolver issued by the FBI, and came into being at the request of the New York State Police.
The only S&W semiauto I own or ever will is my 645. Finest DA .45ACP semiauto ever made.

The round butt, 3" heavy barrel Model 13 was the last revolver issued by the FBI, and came into being at the request of the New York State Police.

We go over this every couple of years. Yes, it's a round butt. This pic is my same exact gun. Photobucket has all my photos hostage. Not paying them a dime and don't feel like hauling it out of the safe to take another pic.  |

To be fair, the M65 wasn't mine until 4 Saturdays ago. I know. How are holding up?
My biggest problem now is that I injured my back so bad lifting her towards the end that there are times I can't bend over enough to put my damn shoes on! I finally gave in last Monday and went to the Dr., but X-rays were negative, and the pain laughs at the pain pills he gave me. I'm going to have to insist on going to a spine Dr. and getting an MRI. It's a bitch that now I can do anything I want to, any time I want to, but I physically can't.
Kinda hampers my enjoyment of my new 12 string and the M-3.
It hurt my oldest daughter the hardest, because my wife was her stepmother, and her natural mother died several years ago. When the ashes came in last weekend, my other two daughters and oldest granddaughter were playing with them, pretending to snort her, and who knows what else. I was back in my room, and I had no idea what all the hysterical laughter was about until I went in to find out.
My family can be weird, but depressed they definitely are not.
