I bought mine like this one for $400 or $450; can't remember exactly, now. Thanks to Demoncrats, if I were stupidly decide to sell mine, I would make a hefty profit! And mine is worth MORE, because it is an earlier Model 65-2. The round butt and 3" barrel makes both models more desirable and valuable than the more common 4", square butt variety.
I'm sure many others of you here have seen your personal assets gain tremendous value, too.
THANKS DEMONCRATS!! Your idiotic unconstitutional gun grab schemes will fail, but I doubt that the value of our guns will decline much.
EDIT: Oh look! I have one exactly like this one, too! Except this is one is from 1983, and mine was made in 1974.

The son of a good friend just took a job with Sig Sauer as a top marketing executive. He told me he can get me any Sig weapon at 50% off. I'm thinking of the 1911 Emperor Scorpion. .45 cal. Always wanted a 1911 and might just get one. Thoughts?

The son of a good friend just took a job with Sig Sauer as a top marketing executive. He told me he can get me any Sig weapon at 50% off. I'm thinking of the 1911 Emperor Scorpion. .45 cal. Always wanted a 1911 and might just get one. Thoughts? pFred has the Sig experience, I don't, but any well-made 1911 is a great choice, depending on its purpose. I personally would not recommend any 1911 as a self defense gun, even though I own 2 of them. To be effective, you have to carry them with one in the chamber, cocked and locked. If you can open carry, they are just fine, but still have the disadvantage of low magazine capacity. Sig makes some really good DA semiautos, and I would go that route. I don't know the max capacity of any Sig .45's, so I can't recommend any particular one. With today's advances in ammo, this dyed in the wool .45'er sees nothing wrong with a good 9mm DA pistol loaded with hollowpoint ammo. They typically hold around 15 rounds, but that depends on the particular gun.
I also don't know what experience you have, and that can make a difference, too. The 9 is easier to shoot than the .45.
If you have your eye on a 1911, by all means get it, but take into consideration its limitations.
I hope pFred will weigh in on this. I'm jealous! I'd love a Sig at half price.
Your big problem won't be the gun, it will be finding ammunition for it! HP's are almost impossible to find, and if you DO find them, you need a bank loan to buy enough to be worthwhile. Even FMJ rounds are costing a fortune.
EDIT: I just looked at the Emperor Scorpion, and it looks excellent!

I don't have any SIG 1911 style pistols but I love my P220 .45auto. 8 round mag for a total of 9 rounds. Additionally, I have no striker fired SIGs, only DA hammer fired and an M400 rifle that's been upgraded to an extent. I've owned SIGs since early '86 and in all that time I don't recall ever having a single malfunction in any of them. The 1911 style SIG I want is the 10mm 1911 TACOPS Full-Size.

The Scorpion mag holds 8 rounds. I will use it mostly for target shooting. I have a Glock 17L Gen 3, an S&W .38 Special, a Davis Industries .380, and my 1873 Colt Army so I'm not worried about firepower. I'm honestly thinking about selling some of these and getting everything in either 9mm or .45 cal just to be ammo consistent.

Vista Outdoors bought the ammo division of Remington last October and started gearing up production in April. Their President of the ammo division said they are in production mode and supplies should be plentiful by August.

Looks great. I stay away from pvd coating but that’s just me. I have had several SIGs and all performed well. SIGs tend to have tight tolerances so keep it clean and use minimal amounts of a high quality lube like Metal Shield. IMO the best.

I also use it on the outside of the barrel and any other friction surface other than trigger groups. Stays put, doesn't go away like oil. I use Mil-Comm TW25B. IMO the best. www.amazon.com/Mil-Comm-TW25B-0-5-Ounce-Reclosable-Synthetic/dp/B000UTOVX8/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Mil-Comm+TW25B+Grease&qid=1622569094&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-4

The Scorpion mag holds 8 rounds. I will use it mostly for target shooting. The only one of your herd I would sell is the .380. It has no collector or commercial value. Your idea about simplifying calibers is a great idea, but now you NEED a .22 for cheap(er) practice.
Everyone NEEDS a .22 LR. It's the most plentiful cartridge in the world.
BTW, those Walther 1911 copies are full size, and some of their frame parts are interchangeable with REAL Colts. I love mine.

I like the .380 because it is small enough to be easily concealed under a light jacket or untucked shirt. I choose to not open carry because I don't want the bad guy to have an edge. I have a .22 rifle I use for varmints in the pastures. Picked off a copperhead at 50 yards Saturday.

I'll take .45ACP over .380ACP any day. My granddaughter has a sweet Taurus 9mm that is easily concealable, too. I think it is the Model PT709. There's really no reason to limit yourself to .380 in today's small gun market.
I was referring to having a .22LR to match some of your centerfire handguns so you could stay in practice relatively affordably.
But I only suggest. What someone else wants to do is entirely his business. I am not going to call you "wrong" or say you don't know what you are doing. I'm just happy you carry ANY gun and exercise your RIGHTS.
