Clemson wants to push the ACC into giving a larger share of conference revenue to the teams that draw the most viewers. They point out that ratings for last thanksgiving Day games show Clemson with the #6 ratings on TV. What they don't understand is that Clemson was lower than five other games, two of which had no implications on conference championship or Playoff games.
Auburn at Alabama 6,656,000 CBS Notre Dame at UNC 6,089,000 ABC LSU at Texas A&M 4,154,000 ESPN Penn State at Michigan 4,093,000 ABC Iowa State at Texas 3,577,000 ABC Pittsburgh at Clemson 3,084,000 ABC/ESPNUrubbingtherock.com/2021/08/05/clemson-football-acc-needs-unequal-shares-revenue/?utm_campaign=apple-news&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=apple-news

Agree, but that isn't going to happen, snowballs chance in hell. The ACC tv rights contract runs out to 2036. In addition, after Maryland was poached by the "predatory" B1G, the ACC instituted very high penalty fees if a team tries to leave the conference.
There must be something to the rumor that Clemson and Florida State wants to join the SEC. The problem is the money. Dang, money has gotten in the way of collegiality in the ACC as it has all over college sports. Clemson and Florida State can't just walk out like Oklahoma and Texas did with their tv rights contract expiring in 2025.
What to do for Clemson and Florida State to get their wish? Stay in the ACC and work for expansion. With expansion comes the opportunity to renegotiate the ACC's tv rights, money over collegiality again, and revisit the ACC's high priced exit fee. When that dust settles, Clemson and Florida State can waltz out like Oklahoma and Texas did at the right time whenever that may be.
More simple is for Clemson and Florida State to work for for changes for expansion, tv rights, exist fees, and for the ACC to affiliate with the SEC into a 40 program Super Duper Conference. Jay Bilas has already called for the ACC to affiliate with the SEC. He is probably in the know about the ACC as anyone outside of the conference leadership. At that point, it would likely be cheaper and easier to make a move if they still wanted to. With a secure future, why?
Clemson and Florida State are in a no win situation and they know it. They have opportunities, but none are quick or easy. The Big 12 knew it too, but they failed collectively to demand change when the conference still mattered as a standalone. It's up to Clemson and Florida State to straighten out the mess they helped to create.

LSU was a trainwreck last year.

Who'd have thunk that such a cycle would have happened to the de-regulated NCAA? The intrinsic problem becomes a self-perpetuating cycle-- i.e., more advertising + corporate funding for School X = better recruitment and expensive coaching staffs for School X = more advertising + media funding for School X, etc. etc., ad infinitum... Understanding the fallout from Oklahoma v. NCAA ain't rocket science, fellas. (Ra mey still doesn't get it.)
