Most doctors don't care about you

My son in laws mom has been in the hospital for a month due to covid and complications as a result. She was put on a ventilator as her lung capacity decreased ( she had some underlying lung trouble) and was also passing blood in her stool.
After about two weeks, the doctor told the family she wouldn't make it and a dnr ( do not recesitate should go on her chart. Basically he quit on her and told the family to say their goodbyes.

Then a surgeon in cowboy boots happened by one day as the family fought to keep her alive, said the bleeding was from her colon. He performed emergency surgery to remove it, the bleeding stopped but her kidney failed snd she was put on dyalisis.

After another week or so, she showed signs of improvement yet the original doc and now the kidney doc said she was trrminal and should not be revived. But her family continued to fight for her as did Dr. Cowboy,  and now she's had a tracheotomy by him and is off the ventilator and going to a rehab thanks to a persistent family who by the way had all access to her charts where the original doc had noted she was unvaxed as was her family and that none wore masks ( how would he know??) even though they all wore them at the hospital, and he continued pushing the dnr on her family.

Bottem line, the hospital will let you die!!

The only thing that kept her alive was a persistant family, a strong heart, a strong prayer network and an angel in cowboy boots

Unbelievable. That story makes me incredibly mad. It's like they want people to die of covid so they can jack the numbers, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if that "Dr." is a flaming liberal with a liberal political agenda. The SOB should be charged and prosecuted.
Liberals don't care about people. They never have. They just want everyone to think they care.

Tough situation, but I think you need to paint the story with a little narrower brush stroke.
The Cowboy dr. wasn't some rogue dr. just wandering around the hospital corridors looking for patients to miraculously save.
I presume he was on staff and had a contrary medical opinion that turned out to be correct. So somebody in the building cared.
And to say the drs. 'don't care' may in fact simply be inexperienced or incompetent staff or, as you suggest, a dr with an agenda; IOW, a lousy hospital with lousy, overworked staff, frustrated by the deluge of COVID patients, and not some sinister, systemic lack of caring about the patients.

I have been participating in a Medicare study for the last several years. I meet with an interviewer several times a year for about two hours each time to answer detailed questions about health care I receive. There are no questions about my health, just my interactions with medical staff. Many of the questions are meant to determine how I relate to my doctors. One question is whether I think my doctors care about my overall health rather than just treating a particular illness or issue. Other questions are about how I interact with my doctors.
It appears that Dr. Cowboy cares about his patients.

JMHO, but this entire dempanic....excuse me, 'pandemic' has turned into nothing BUT a political football and a money-making, cover-the-big-doctors'- asses and has been recognized as such by people with integrity for quite some time. Started with 'Get TRUMP' and continued by Nutty Nancy and her Covid bounty paid to docs & hospitals treating covid patients. I called my doctor's office a couple weeks ago to question the difference, if any, between the symptoms for the original COVID 19 and the Delta variant...instead of answering my couple of questions, he wanted me to make an appointment to come in so he could charge my insurance. I told his office manager to tell him I said Google at least didn't charge for simple crap, said good-bye and hung up.

My son in laws mom passed away from basically organ failure due to covid, which is sad.

But something very interesting happened the next day....my son in law called the dr. in cowboy boots to thank him for all he had done. My sil brother works for the Houston Texans org (a scout), they offered the dr. some tickets to a game to show their appreciation.
The dr politely declined, he then offered some advice regarding the vaccine, he said don't get it, take d,c and get some IVERMECTIN! He said don't let anyone tell you different.
