Birdshot at 30 yards or so is hardly lethal to a human being.

Some accounts say the range was closer, and one pellet seems to have penetrated his chest wall and ended up close to his heart, so I guess it's hard to say exactly what the distance was.

Getting back to the point, though, Cheney did not deliberately aim a gun at another human being and pull the trigger like Badlands Baldwin did.

But, the gun should have been checked by Baldwin, the man that picked up the gun from outside the building, and the armorer who should have had the guns secured instead of lying on a table outside the set.

You need to go back and review what happened in Cheney's case. He WAS ready to shoot, and he was shooting at some flushed quail.   Somehow or another, Harry Whittington got between him and the quail, and the shot was fired.  Cops have shot each other in the exact scenario too.  Once that trigger motion starts, it is VERY hard to stop it.

I got lucky one time myself, or I would have shot a Sheriff's deputy who stepped between me and a bad dog.  Somehow as I was falling backwards and pulling the trigger, I caught the deputy out of the corner of my eye and relaxed pressure as he stepped in front of me.

I don't know what movie protocol is, to be exact, but I simply find it extremely ironic that all these anti-gun Hollyweird types get rich off movies with EXTREME gun violence.

It doesn't matter that pansy Rock is going to use rubber guns from now on.  He is still glamorizing the use of guns far beyond how they are normally used by ANYONE.   Even gangstas don't shoot up people like the movies portray.

Not sure if you've ever been quail hunting with 3-4 other guys, but if you have you would know that what happened with Cheney and Whittington is not all that hard to understand.

Seems pretty obvious the Baldwin prosecutor is a democrat. Had it been an honest citizen, he'd be lucky to be out on bail.
