NOT when it involves purely political speech and differing opinions. Social media doesn't even have the right to censor obvious lies, If they did, Demonrats couldn't say much.
There is a huge difference between calling out Demonrat lies and live streaming a murder. Even YOU should be able to figure that out.
Social media are private. They have the right to censor anything they want on their platform. If Musk buys Twitter, will he censor criticism of Musk? Count on it. He fires people at his companies now who do it. Would you be okay with that? I would. It would be his company. I said I do not approve of censoring freedom of SPEECH for any reason. Promoting gore and violence is OK too, IF a private company is willing to do so. No one is forcing anyone else to view it. There used to be a website named Ogrish.com that specialized in posting al kinds of gore on the internet. It doesn't appear to exist any more.

So, "say whatever you want but I'll censor/ban you if I don't like what you say"? I can't buy that that's what the founding fathers had in mind. Can you name any institution, from the Ohio State football team to ATT to the press sec of POTUS to the Catholic Church that allows unfettered access to their platform to post whatever a person might wish to say? Nope, but again, I don't believe that's what the FF's had in mind when they wrote the [badly worded] 1st amendment.

I would be interesting to see what the 1st A would have looked like if somehow the FFs knew that a private company had the ability to post the comments of every single citizen at the same time, and that such comments were a critical form of communication in influencing policy.

I've often said that the FF's we're some of the smartest people of their time, but if they'd been omniscient, the Bill of Rights would look a lot different, especially the 1st & 2nd amendments. That being said, "freedom of eXpression" might have taken a paragraph or two to deal with the kind of crap that's going on these days.
