Personally, I think it is a stupid idea.
Why go smaller than 9mm/.38 caliber in a personal defense round? There are very few guns chambered for it. Not many ammo manufacturers either, that I know of. I doubt if there are any reloading dies, suitable .30 caliber bullets, or raw empty cases available either.
Dear Federal: No thank you! If I want to go smaller than .45ACP, I'll take the Glock 26. At least 9mm is a proven round.

I saw that. If anything, I'd carry .38 Super since it's been around for quite awhile. But even then I don't need to stockpile yet another caliber when I already have 9mm, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, 10mm, .44 Special, .44 Magnum and .45 ACP.

The idea is to have a smallish gun that is still potent, which would rule out the .38 Super. I might be wrong, but I think they only come in 1911 style guns. I've never had an interest in .38 Super at all. For a smallish carry gun in a lesser caliber, I'd take the G26.

Even with all the upgrades like on my G20 it's still mush. But they're a great firearm and good as a sacrificial gun if you're ever involved in a shooting and might not get it back from LE - you can always get another one just like it.

When you are shooting under stress, you don't feel ANY trigger. All that mushy trigger talk comes from people who only shoot paper targets and such.
At 50 feet or less, in a real situation, it makes no difference at all. You aren't going to be breathing and squeezing; you are going to be SHOOTING.
I have fired full house .357's under stress (like at bad guy car tires when we were still allowed to do that), and I didn't feel anything at all. All of your focus is on what you are shooting at.
But if you don't like Glocks, I'm sure there are other brands in 9mm that are about the same size. That was the point I was trying to make. I simply used the G26 as an example because Glock is what I am used to now.

Just a personal preference, bro. Not my intention to dog the G26, it's a great gun. I've just never liked Glocks and I don't plan on shooting anybody so triggers are very high on my list of qualities I want to see in a gun. I understood why you mentioned the G26 since it's your familiar platform. I would personally look around at other mfr's. if I decided to go compact or subcompact. There's so many choices now.

I agree 100%. Whatever fits you best is what you SHOULD carry for PD. That's not the place for a fashion show. You want a gun that you can stake your life on, period. Fancy looking grips, engraving, colored finishes, and all that other crap is dumb. No one should ever see your gun when you are carrying it, except for a bad guy.
I don't have any trouble qualifying with my G30, and at 25 and 15 yards, you have the time to actually take careful aim and squeeze the trigger. I had to shave down that stupid trigger safety blade on mine to make it comfortable, but that in no way interferes with the trigger safety function. IMHO, that whole thing is stupid, since your finger is the trigger safety, but guns nowadays are built to a certain extent to make lawyers happy. If I were using any of those guns as fun guns only, I would totally remove that stupid trigger safety blade.
