I don't know enough about the sport or the team to have an opinion on this one, but I played golf today with a guy who was using an Avalanche coin as a ball marker.
Saw this article at Slate tonight. The Most Electrifying NHL Team in Years Is Storming Toward the Stanley CupTheir perfections and their flaws make these guys a total joy to watch.slate.com/culture/2022/06/colorado-avalanche-stanley-cup-final-playoffs-goals-wow.htmlJune 7, 2022

Very good, in fact but this article is full of hyperbole. No doubt they will be a tough out but they make it seem like winning the Cup is a foregone conclusion when the reality is, it is anything but. They have had the luxury of beating up on the Western Conference in the playoffs, where only four of the top 10 teams in the league reside. If they think the Avalanche are just going to skate their way to a championship, they are in a for a rude awakening in the Final. Their defense is only slightly above average and their goaltending suspect. That's a bad combination this time of year.

I heard a similar take on the Stanley Cup Finals from a guy I played golf with yesterday. His opinion was that Tampa would be a very tough match up for the Avalanche, because Tampa plays tough defense and a half-court style game. He also said that the Avs don't have a championship caliber goalie.
