Let's face it. 18 year old boys might be the LAST group of people you'd want to allow ownership of guns if you had to rank the demographics of dumbest decision makers up to best decision-makers. That's just the way it is. Teenage boys are idiots. You, me, all of us, made bad decisions as kids. It's who we are. That said, if society is gonna call you an adult at 18, then so be it. But that doesn't mean we can't be careful about things we let you do. I think the idea of enhanced BG checks is a good one both for the next elementary school event and for the welfare of a depressed kid, and there are a lot of them, who gets dumped by his girlfriend or gets bullied in the hallway, and who decides, F-it...life sucks. Let's just end this. |

NONE of the kids I grew up with turned into killers, and most all of us had access to guns way before we were 18. Maybe the kids YOU hung out with were idiots, but all we were in to was underage drinking and smoking, and maybe a little crazy driving. We didn't do robberies, burglaries, muggings, or anything like that.
You (the government) don't LET me exercise a RIGHT. That again shows your pig-headed thinking.
What we DO do is enforce the laws that are on the books, that are broken by people who abuse their rights.
No .......... if I as an individual am selling a gun to another individual, I have no right to go snooping into his background beyond what a REASONABLE person would do. If I suspect John Jones of being a criminal, court records are public documents, and I can take a day or two to check court documents before selling the gun. There is no reason for the gov't to be involved.
Stopping suicide is bullshit, too. A truly suicidal person will do it by any means necessary, and he doesn't need an AR. One bullet usually works.
Red flag laws are stupid too, AND unconstitutional. I suggest you familiarize yourself with the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
I WILL agree that thanks to you idiot lieberals, kids these days have no respect for authority, know they won't get punished when they do something wrong, and don't CARE who they hurt. So don't blame guns. Blame YOUR attitude.
