Exciting Game One in last night's Stanley Cup series in Denver.
I've never been much of a hockey fan, but we had the entire extended family watching the game up here and cheering at my in-law's cabin in Estes Park.
The Avalanche had a lot more shots on goal than Tampa, but the Lightning's goalie, Vasilevsky, is amazing.
I can see why Tampa is a two-time defending NHL champion.

Exciting Game One in last night's Stanley Cup series in Denver. I've never been much of a hockey fan, but we had the entire extended family watching the game up here and cheering at my in-law's cabin in Estes Park. The Avalanche had a lot more shots on goal than Tampa, but the Lightning's goalie, Vasilevsky, is amazing. I can see why Tampa is a two-time defending NHL champion. Once Vasilevskiy settled in, he was his solid usual self but those first two goals were uncharacteristically soft. Then he got hung out to dry by his defense on the game winner. As bad as the Bolts played, especially early, they still had a chance to steal one away. Gotta be better than that on Saturday, though. Glad you enjoyed the game. If you ever get the chance to see one live, do it. The excitement is a whole nother level. |

You really don't get a feel for the game on TV because you cannot see the speed and never see the stuff like line changes. It's a whole different animal to see live. |

I always tell people, if you want to learn the rules and understand the game quicker, go see it live. So much easier to explain everything in person. |

The Avs started fast and never let up. That was about as thorough an ass kicking as I have ever seen.
Impressive performance and a huge hole for the Bolts to climb out of. Absolutely need to take two at home now.
