We need tougher JUDGES. Why was he on probation, and not behind bars, where he belonged? Why was his sentence so light? 20 days is NOT the max for illegal possession of a firearm by a felon.
Do you understand what "convicted felon" means? It means he is most likely NOT going to obey ANY law that he doesn't want to obey.

The guy apparently plea-bargained it down. He had been out of fat trouble for about a decade prior to the incident, so perhaps the DA didn't see him as that much of a danger. Boy, he sure got THAT wrong. Notwithstanding any of that...20 days?....20 freakin' days!....geez. I can't get past that. |

NO ONE under 60 or 65 should be considered "reformed," and maximum sentences should be laid down for everyone under those ages until this shit slacks up.
If that sounds harsh, tough shit. Most criminals commit crimes deliberately, so their harsh sentences are THEIR fault.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
I listed "gun laws" that would work a long time ago. No one wants to hear it. |
