I finally let curiosity get the best of me Saturday and bought a Taurus G3C subcompact 9mm pistol. The only other 9 I own is a P-38, which is not exactly a small or light gun.
Yesterday was range day. Holy shit! I am VERY impressed. The trigger is light, and the trigger face itself feels very nice. The gun puts all the bullets where the sights tell them to go. It functioned flawlessly, except for one slightly oversized round that balked on chambering. That was an ammo fault, NOT a gun fault. I was concerned about the rather aggressive stippling on the grip, because it felt very sharp. But when actually firing the gun, you don't feel it at all. All four "corners" of the slide are nicely rounded, giving it less of that "Glock box" look. The steel sights consist of a white dot front and plain black rear, but they can be replaced with Glock sights of other configurations, if desired.
My younger brother, who has very little experience with handguns, had no problems making ti hit the aim spot either. The gun does have a thumb safety, but to me it is unnecessary. Just make sure it stays "OFF."
Purchase price before taxes was $279, and it comes with three 12-round magazines, and the lawyer-approved cable safety lock, which I will promptly lose.
I think my curiosity for a small Glock-style 9mm has been satisfactorily met. I haven't tried it with HP ammunition yet, but assuming it passes that test too, I wouldn't hesitate to carry this little gun if I decided I wanted to use a 9mm instead of my .45ACP. As I age, the 9mm may become a more viable option for me.
For now, I'm pleased with having this new toy to play with!

Thanks, bro!
They say Taurus has solved their past QC issues, so we'll find out in due time, I suppose. I have to admit this is a fun little gun to shoot, and it is a little bit smaller than my Glock 30SF, and the 9mm is easier to shoot than .45, but I already knew that. Now I guess I will have to start saving fired 9mm brass, and look into getting some .355" projectiles for reloading.
And I am still backed up on reloading .45ACP. And .38 wadcutters.
Damn!
I'm gonna have to look into buying a progressive press soon.

That's a handsome little gun. I actually like the FDE frame.
