A little deeper down in the box...
We moved from El Paso to PA in August of 99...My sister & her husband took my wife & I to the Jake as a birthday gift. Outside, I bought a packet of pix/cards, labeled "1948 HOMETOWN HEROES" 30 different players cards sold at the stadium during the 1988 season

But nice to run thru the names... My dad's family was from Ohio before the depression. The Indians also had a minor league team in Bakersfield, CA, where dad went to HS. I guess that was the weekend 'hot spot' and Dad would talk about seeing some of the '50s Indians play ball 'back in the day.' |
