I just found out that one of my very close female relatives is getting an AR from her boyfriend for her birthday soon.

The brand and other details won't be revealed here for obvious reasons, but I know she will love it.   She is kick ass when it comes to shooting.

From what I understand, she has all the accessory goodies too, so I'll just give her 300 rounds of ammo and 100 paper targets to play with.

I'm gonna really enjoy it when (if) she invites me to try out her new toy!

I just want to share in HER fun.

My AR still plays second fiddle to my superior Mini-14.   I do give the AR the edge for easier takedown for cleaning.

But the Ruger doesn't need aftermarket parts to make it into a high quality gun.  The Ruger quality is factory built in.

Well, the rumor turned out to be true.   The young lady sent me a picture of her birthday present last night, and it appears to be this one:

She also got a SIG Romeo7S optic and 17 magazines to go with it.  I had a different SIG Romeo mounted on my Mini-14, and had no issues with it at all. 

I forgot to ask what capacity the magazines are, but they are at least 20 rounders. 

I think it is great that America's young women are determined to exercise our 2A rights, too!

Lucky lady. I have a PSA upper very similar to that one on one of my AR builds. It's a full length M-LOK shroud like that one but has the full length picattiny rail up top. It's my long ranch AR and has some weight to it. I shitcanned the Leupold and put a Steiner 1-4x on it since this pic was taken.

Holy shit!   That scope is way out of MY budget!

One thing I like about the PSA guns is that they have liftetime transferable warranties.   I'm sure there are others, but there are too many AR makers out there to research them all.

I don't think she will put a scope on hers, but you never know.
I'm not a scope person, either.  I have a red dot on my AR, and I can use the iron sights.
You CAN use a .223 for deer hunting in LA (unlike Texas), but the hunters' opinions are that it's really too small and weak to be very effective on deer.

When were you a U.S. military sniper?

I'm just telling you that our forces mainly use Leupold scopes.   I wouldn't say it if I hadn't researched it.
