They took a chance that Scherzer could outpitch Darvish, get a win and hopefully save DeGrom to open the Dodger series.
That ain't going to happen now.

Heck, they may not even be playing after tomorrow. The Padres came out aggressive and beat up Scherzer pretty bad. Not surprised that Darvish pitched well but I am surprised that Max didn't. That's two straight starts where he has been pretty awful. No excuse for that this time of year. |
