Yes.
After watching and reading a bunch of reviews, I decided to pull the plug and order a CMMG .22LR conversion kit for my AR. I'm keeping my fingers crossed while awaiting delivery, but if it functions as advertised, shooting the AR will be cheaper and hopefully accurate enough to keep it fun. It isn't meant to be competition-accurate, and that's fine with me. When I shoot .22 rimfire, I'm doing it just for the sheer fun, but I can still practice shooting with my "real" AR-15.
IF it operates as advertised. I'll know for sure after it gets here and gets a workout.
I got mine with a single 25 round magazine. They also offer them with 3 25 rounders, and a commie-compatible one with a 10 round magazine. The good news is, people have already figured out how to defeat the 10 round limit on the commie-state magazines.

Nice. In CA all my 30 round mags had a single aluminum rivet located in the back of the mag to prevent the follower from going down any lower than 10 round capacity. Two seconds with my Bosch cordless drill and I had a 30 round mag in the case of chaos breaking out. Government and electorate stupidty never ceases to amaze me.

I have a Marlin Glenfield 60 for my .22LR needs so not really interested in running that in my high end AR's. Hope you have fun with it though!

I have other .22 rifles as well, but they can't give me the feel of shooting the AR. They are totally different animals. The idea of the conversion kit is to practice cheaply with one of your main weapon types. It won't harm your "high end AR" at all. You could even remove your AR recoil spring and buffer, if you wanted to.
That's the reason Colt made .22 conversions for U.S. Army 1911's. Cheap practice with a gun you would bring into combat.
I see you are one of those clowns who say "running" when they mean "shooting" or "using."
When I hear of someone "running" his "platform," I know I have encountered a GI Joe wannabe.

I didn't say it would harm my AR's. I said I didn't want to run it in mine, although I do like the concept.

Those dumb terms "run" and "weapon platform" should be banned from the Shooters' Lexicon.
Do you go running, or do you go shooting?

When I go shooting I like to run mostly range ammo. Before the tyrannical draconian laws were put in place in CA I pulled the trigger on boatlaods of range ammo from WalMart and top shelf ammo over the internet. Sometimes I run snap caps if I want to work on trigger control. I haven't bought a new gun in a long time. I should pull the trigger on something from my want list now I don't have to run workaround parts on assault weapons and can walk in, walk out after pulling the trigger. No waiting period for CCWs in NV.

Scrub that. I just checked - no waiting period at all for anybody in NV, handguns or rifles. Although NV permits qualify with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and firearms as alternatives to the background check requirements of the Brady law for up to 5 years from the date of issuance, the state of NV requires background checks for all firearm purchases. I also noted that I can CC as long as my BAC does not exceed .08%. In CA it was .00%. Zip zilch nada.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way, no Walmart in the Baton Rouge area sells firearm ammunition of ANY kind. The closest they get to guns now are pellet guns.
And yes, by all means, you SHOULD piss off the Demonrats and go buy a new gun!! Buy something you don't already have, if possible, just to be different.

When I shoot over to WalMart (which now has barely any ammo at all) I run 87 octane in the normal vehicles.

Not really. Fortunately, I hardly ever have to drive anywhere.

Are you running reloads in that AR, or store bought? Shoot me a response pronto, savvy?

Are you running reloads in that AR, or store bought? Shoot me a response pronto, savvy? I am SHOOTING storebought ammo in the AR and the Mini-14.
I bought a progressive reloader and the components to start reloading .223, but I haven't started doing it yet.
Now that I have the .22LR conversion kit, I may not be in any hurry to reload centerfire. I took it to the range yesterday and it worked flawlessly with Winchester HV ammo. It doesn't like Remington at all, so I will save that brand for my other .22's. Those are the only brands I've tried so far. I haven't tried my CCI ammo yet, and I guess I should buy some Aguila and Federal as well, but then again, why bother? You can't get better than 100% with the Winchester. And accuracy is just as good as I can shoot it. Shooting unjacketed bullets in it is also a non-no, to avoid the possibility of fouling the gas port.

I have thousanda of rounds of CCI Maxi-Mag, both HP and regular jacketed. Yeah, I try to avoid non-jacketed but I still have a bunch leftover from the 70s and 80s when I used to buy it at K-Mart for 79 cents for 50 rounds.
