An Unarmed Retired Army Major and Combat Veteran Disarmed and Beat the Club Q Shooter

November 21, 2022 This guy is a hero. A combat Army veteran officer tackled and beat the armed 6'3, 300-pound Club Q mass shooter with the killer's own pistol. The mass shooter was also stomped into submission by a drag performer wearing high heels. "When the shooting started, Mr. Fierro said, he hit the floor, pulling a friend down with him. As bullets sprayed, he saw the gunman move through the bar toward a door leading to a patio where dozens of bar patrons had fled. Mr. Fierro, who served in the Army for 15 years, said he raced across the room, grabbed the gunman by a handle on the back of his body armor, pulled him to the floor and jumped on top of him." "As the fight continued, he said, he yelled for other club patrons to help him. A man grabbed the rifle and moved it away to safety. A drag dancer stomped on the gunman with her high heels. It does sound like this Iraq war veteran's adrenaline level was up when he attacked the murderer. Understandable. His daughter was wounded by the gun man, and her boyfriend was killed. |

I agree with the veteran and the other people who let loose on the shooter. I'm betting he was not laying still, meekly waiting for the cops to show up. If he was resisting their attempts to restrain him, he got what he deserved. It doesn't matter WHO the victims were, no one should be shot down for what they believe, how they dress or behave, etc.
As a retired cop, I would have most likely been handling it as any other arrest, but the ordinary patrons didn't have that training or restraint.
I most likely would have been saying I was a cop (only a half lie) and telling him to stop resisting.

We need to allow concealed carry in bars, as long as the carrier is not consuming alcohol.
