For future reference, would you consider it a rivalry game in the traditional sense? Because it was between LSU/aTm and UCLA/Cal. UCLA/Cal IS a rivalry game, of big brother (CAL) against little brother (UCLA) that goes back. LSU/aTm only really started when aTm arrived in the SEC. No, it didn't start when A&M joined the SEC.
LSU and A&M first played each other in 1899, with the Aggies whipping the Tigers 52-0. It didn't matter that they were in different conferences, the near proximity to each other made them natural rivals. They have played each other 60 times over the years, with LSU holding the edge, 35-22-3.

So do me a favor then. List, IYO, the LSU rivalries from of most heated to least heated rivalry opponents. It's whoever LSU is playing next. Ole Miss is a big rivalry. So is Alabama. Arkansas has grown in importance, since they play for The Boot now.
Because of alabama's recent success with Nickel $aban, I would say that the average LSU fan considers that game the biggest rivalry. I have never bothered to rank them in my own mind. If you are playing LSU, and you think you are going to beat them, then YOU are THE enemy for that day. If LSU wins, that game is over. If LSU loses, then it stings for a few days before being finally over.
