My claim to fame as a baseball player was being this guy's little League catcher. Graves, not Paul. 😁
Seriously, though, it's amazing to see him receive this honor. Things weren't always rosey during his time in Cincinnati and the way in which his tenure there ended was a stain that haunts him to this day but in all the years I have known him, I have never not seen him with a smile on his face.
Couple of footnotes to his career...
- Drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1996 - Was traded to the Reds in the John Smiley deal in 1997 - He is the only Vietnamese-born MLB player - He is the only player in major league history with multiple seasons where his only hits were HRs - Ended his career back in Cleveland in 2006 but was released after appearing in 13 games.
After years of not being in contact, he reached out to me after my stroke, offering his support during my recovery. Couldn't be happier for him.

And never knew you had a stroke, hope you had (have) full recovery.

Very cool. And never knew you had a stroke, hope you had (have) full recovery. Thanks. It was in August of 2020. I was in pretty bad shape but have since made a full recovery and feel great.
