For those interested in the subject of our epidemic of mass shootings in the U.S., there's some disturbing information emerging in the case of the Club Q mass shooter from Colorado Springs, Anderson Lee Aldrich. The red flags were even worse than I thought. As it turns out, the young man had threatened to kill his grandparents in June of 2021 if they moved to Florida-- because, as he told them, he needed to use their basement to stockpile weapons and body armor so that he could become a mass shooter!!So, what happened? The grandparents fled, called 911, and the cops came to the home, where Aldrich threatened to blow up the building, a standoff which he livestreamed on Facebook. The neighborhood was evacuated, and guns and bomb making materials were found on the premises. Charges were mysteriously "dropped," and the Republican El Paso County Sheriff refused to confiscate the guns-- in violation of Colorado's red flag laws. The grandparents moved to Florida. Mom hired a lawyer, and there was, apparently, no further intervention by law enforcement. The details are sealed. YGBFKM... “Next mass killer”: Dropped 2021 case foretold Club Q bloodbath El Paso County DA has not discussed why he didn’t pursue charges against Anderson Lee Aldrich last yearwww.denverpost.com/2022/12/06/club-q-shooting-anderson-aldrich-sealed-case/December 6, 2022

So the Colorado judicial system failed to do its job. Glad we can put the blame where it rightfully belongs. This clown should not have had access to guns. No one should be shot, injured, or attacked in any way just for being "different."
Gun owners, gun sellers, gun makers, and guns themselves did NOTHING WRONG.

Well, Bryan, I'm glad that you are condemning the Republican El Paso County Sheriff for refusing to enforce Colorado's red flag laws. We have to get guns out of the hands of homicidal maniacs in the U.S. Banning the sale of assault rifles-- as we did in the 1990s-- would also help.

Red flag laws in general are a violation of an individual's constitutional rights to be secure from illegal search and seizure.
There is no such thing as a civilian "assault rifle." "Assault rifles" are single operator weapons that are capable of being fired in full-automatic mode. Military assault rifles CAN be purchased by civilians, but their sale is strictly regulated by BATFE.

So, Bryan, let me get this straight.
Do smart guys like you and Steve Scalise believe that cops shouldn't confiscate guns from homicidal maniacs, like Anderson Lee Aldrich, who make bomb threats and tell their families that they are stockpiling weapons and body armor for a mass shooting?

Bryan's position on this issue is analogous to saying that the government has no right to interfere with people drinking and driving. It's nuts.

Well, on his behalf, you have to admit that drinking alcohol is a Constitutional right, just like the right to bear arms. Heck, shouldn't gun nuts be concerned about limitations on the open carry (of alcoholic beverages)? I mean, next thing you know, they'll be taking our guns.

If a judge has issued a warrant for temporary seizure of weapons after he has heard evidence that gives him probable cause to believe that a person is a danger to others or himself, then YES, police officers are obligated to execute that warrant. I have no problem with disarming wackos, but they must be adjudicated as wackos FIRST. THAT is how our legal system properly operates. The thought police is a communist entity, and has no business operating in the United States of America.
Absent a warrant, the police have NO RIGHT to seize private property from a person THEY decide to target. It's amazing that liberals want the police to decide what people do in their everyday lives. Can we see how easily that power could be abused by racist cops, or cops who simply don't like the ownership of firearms by citizens? It is very easy to make up bullshit about someone when using a red flag law, which violates the 4th Amendment.

Heck, shouldn't gun nuts be concerned about limitations on the open carry (of alcoholic beverages)? I mean, next thing you know, they'll be taking our guns. Why are you two cuckoos so stupid? Consuming alcohol in and of itself is harmful only to the consumer. It is only when the consumer starts doing dangerous things in public while under the influence of alcohol that it becomes a problem that requires legal intervention. Drinking is not a crime.
Driving a motor vehicle is not a crime. Driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol IS a crime.
Do we understand the two elements that must join together in order to be considered a crime, class?
Owning a gun is not a crime. Shooting a gun in designated or non restricted places is not a crime. Using a gun to aid in committing a crime is a crime, although the SAME crimes can be committed WITHOUT a gun. I can rob you without a gun. I can threaten you without a gun. I can commit bodily harm on your person without a gun. I can KILL you without a gun.
Now here's the part that will blow you pussies away. "The largest and most comprehensive survey of American gun owners ever conducted suggests that they use firearms in self-defense about 1.7 million times a year. ................... The online survey, which was conducted by Centiment in February and March of 2021, was based on a representative sample of about 54,000 adults, 16,708 of whom were gun owners. Georgetown University political economist William English, who commissioned the survey as part of a book project, presents its major findings in a recent paper available on the Social Science Research Network."
reason.com/2022/09/09/the-largest-ever-survey-of-american-gun-owners-finds-that-defensive-use-of-firearms-is-common/
So now you see the FACTS that justify the ownership of normal, everyday firearms by normal, everyday American citizens. How many criminal acts of mass shootings happen per year? How many lives are SAVED by armed citizens? Looks to me somewhere around 1.67 million. Every crime that is thwarted with the use of a gun has at least ONE potential victim involved. But if I am with two other people and we are threatened by a kook with a knife, chances are good that when he looks down my .45 caliber barrel, he will lose interest in trying to harm us. So without firing a shot I used my firearm to save 3 peoples lives ----- four if you include the criminal who had the good sense to run off or surrender rather than being shot.
If YOU two are out with other people and a guy with a knife comes up to you with bad intentions, there's a very high chance that at least one of you will be stabbed, or at the least, be relieved of your valuables that you or someone worked hard to buy. You will then clean the shit out of your pants and call the cops, and when they FINALLY arrive after an hour or so, at least one good cop will tell you (probably unofficially) "One of you should have been carrying a gun. We need help to stop this kind of shit. Go get your permit as soon as you can." That last bit of advice is of course predicated on how much your state and local government oppresses your 2A right.
I ALWAYS advised an abused woman to get herself a gun and learn how to use it in case her abuser wanted to repeat his misbehavior. Giving a Louisiana citizen an understanding of Louisiana law was a public service and was part of my job.
Sorry to shoot you two idiots down again, but I actually enjoy it, to be honest.
