Yes, the New York Draft Riot during the Civil War was a very grim chapter in American history, Ra mey, as were the massacres in Tulsa, Elaine, and elsewhere.

Should they be taught in our American history curricula, or censored to avoid upsetting anti-woke Republicon screwballs like Greg Abbott, Ron DeSantis, Fred, and Sarah Huckabee Sanders?

Unless you want to change the name of the class to Selected History And Myths, then all history should be taught, good and bad. Teach that Abraham Lincoln was as racist as Robert E. Lee. Lincoln used the blacks for political purposes just like Democrats of today. He really wanted to load them back on the slave ships and send them back to Africa.

You never did post pictures from the Rose Bowl in the 1940s of blacks and whites sitting side by side watching the games. That in itself tells us all about racism in California and the Big 10. At least the South was open and honest about racism back in those days.

Lincoln may have wanted to do a lot of things to/for blacks, but unlike a big chunk of those in the south, enslavement wasn't one of them.

Study some accurate history on the subject of Lincoln and slavery, Dungkopf.

The best book I have read on the subject is Columbia University historian Eric Foner's book, The Fiery Trial-- Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery.
