Also, recent progressive gun grabber actions are showing a trend.
They ban bump stocks, it take two years but it gets overturned. Meanwhile, many people of law-abiding mode destroyed or turned in their bump stocks. And now there is no production of bump stocks anywhere in the country; unlikely any company will start it back up. The gun grabbers actually achieved an effect. The smart people violated the law, because now they are the only ones who have their bump stocks.
Next up is AR pistol braces. The Biden ATF just willy-nilly banned them. And now you have to destroy them (well, you can also put a 16-inch barrel on your AR pistol and destroy the short barrel). Likely, this bureaucratic action made into law will also be overturned... in two years or so. Again, the wise advice is to stash the thing and be a law breaker, and wait it out.
Put all of this in context of the Illinois law and the decision of the Sheriffs.

That's why the only answer is do not comply.
I didn't when they wanted me to register as assault weapons in CA. In a way I did comply by making them legally NOT assault weapons thereby no need to register.
