Clueless Daleko still hasn't figured out that the Colorado Indian War of 1864 was a minor, late footnote in the 400 year history of European genocide against Native Americans in the Western hemisphere.
BTW, Cheese Burgher, I'm reading an interesting book this week about the bloody history of Comanche massacres of white pioneers in Texas.
Indian Depredations in Texas was published in 1890-- written by a guy whose older brother was scalped by the Comanches in the 1830s.

Clueless Daleko still hasn't figured out that the Colorado Indian War of 1864 was a minor, late footnote in the 400 year history of European genocide against Native Americans in the Western hemisphere. BTW, Cheese Burgher, I'm reading an interesting book this week about the bloody history of Comanche massacres of white pioneers in Texas. Indian Depredations in Texas was published in 1890-- written by a guy whose older brother was scalped by the Comanches in the 1830s. |

The Sand Creek Massacre of 1864 -- by Ohio preacher John Chivington--should live in infamy, along all of the other massacres during the 400-year Native American genocide in the New World. Yet, it seems to be the only such incident you know anything about. |
