Since I got my old trusty Model 19, I started getting curious about its stainless steel twin, the Model 66. This was natural for me, since a 66 replaced the 19 that I had started by LEO career. And it was naturally stupid, of course.
Of course I started browsing GunBroker for 66's, and they were all in the $1000.00 and up range. But then .................. there it was!! A Model 66-2 with a Buy it Now price of $700.00. No, this must be some kind of mistake, or a joke. So I read the listing carefully, and it was real, being sold by someone in Troy, OH. The 66-2 was made between 1982 and 1986, so it's not exactly a new gun, but newer than my 19.
Now what? I just spent over $1000 on the Model 19, so what do I do? I wavered, I waffled, and then I said screw it!! It's only money. So including tax and shipping, I picked this one up for a little over $800. Yes, they charge LA sales tax when I buy something online, so if I had found one locally, I still would have had to pay the sales tax.
It should ship out tomorrow and by the end of the week, I should be a happy little camper with my twins.

Shoulda stayed with Chinky guitars... they're a lot cheaper... I think I still own more guitars than guns, but the gap is closing. Guess I will have to actually count the guns one day.
I'm not playing guitar these days as much as I used to.
