Geez...this is Immunology 101 stuff.
Meanwhile, unvaccinated U.S. adults over age 65 had a NINEFOLD increased risk of death from COVID from mid-2021 through 2022 compared to vaccinated adults.

Great, if it doesn't kill you.. Then it's back to a reasonable discussion of who should, TODAY, take the vaccine. The unvaxed death rate, today, seems to be between 1% and 2%. Far below the 28% we saw a yr ago. Yesterday is done and gone. Should everyone, TODAY, take it to protect themselves and the vulnerable others? We made decisions, in the past, w the best intentions and information, both dealing w an abbreviated time frame and a raging pandemic.
The past seems to be in the rear view mirror. Most suggest the vaccine effectiveness may have a time stamp. Along w getting the virus, which offers protection. If so, who, TODAY, SHOULD take the vaccine? I took my battery of shots and had contracted COVID. Ya I get taking the shot didn't mean I wouldn't get infected, so don't read anything into that comment, other than both have a time stamp.

IMO, the notion that it has become endemic sets the stage. Like all flu vax, the mantra becomes 'elderly and at risk' just like the others. Herd immunity has more or less been achieved, depending on how that might be defined in this case.
