Maybe this picture will show up for y'all.
Anyway, the Gunbroker listing is the one I actually bought. It's like brand new.
Well, I hadn't shot my Smith M-19 or M-66, so when the Ruger came in, we all went to the range together. The Model 19 has the beautiful deep S&W blue finish and it was so clean, it didn't look like it was 40 something years old.
The 66, being stainless didn't look quite as perfect, but both guns are shooters, not safe queens, even though I have about $2000 invested in the pair.
Holy shit! My first 6 full .357 magnums from the Model 19 when into a 1" hole at about 10 yards.
Tried the same thing with the Model 66 and it grouped about 1.75". Not as accurate as the 19, but the 19 has a white outline rear sight while the 66 doesn't. That might be what I need to change. Luckily I know a great gunsmith from El Salvador who is 86 years young, and that gentleman knows his shit about ALL guns. He is the one who straightened the barrel on my AR-15.
Switching to .38 Special, both guns are tackdrivers, but again the 19 edges out the 66.
Then I began playing with the Ruger, it was almost child's play to put the entire 12 round magazine into such a small hole it looked like one big hole. I took the checkered black plastic grips off the Ruger and put on some smooth wooden grips, and now it looks and feels really great. I haven't taken it back for a new test run yet, but this coming Wednesday is ladies' day at the range, so what better time to go and show off all three of my new babies again?
Lieberals have no idea how much SAFE fun you can have with firearms!!!

Have you disassembled it yet? Lots of people can't get them back together after they disassemble them. This may help:

I owned the same exact gun back in the 70's, and I learned the tricks about putting it back together, especially the part about the hammer strut.

I understand the newer Ruger Mk (whatever they up are up to) pistols have more user-friendly takedown methods, but I have never seen one in person. I was never interested in the new guns, especially the ones with the 45 frames. Guess I'll have to look at some of the videos again.
I'm still the traditional old fart who fell in love with early-model guns, and that's where I stay, except for the Glock. Even then, I will own only one Glock, unless I buy another G30SF to go along with the one I already have, as a spare.
