But hey…of Mike’s examples I had only heard of the first two. One was in Missouri and the other New York. Be curious as to what regulation you would add/change, etc. in each state.

Respectfully, that’s confirmation bias on your part. There are about 75 million people in the U.S. who own guns. The number of those doing the stupid shit is very small.

Lots of gun owners in your area of rural Ohio, right? How many in your town have been shot for driving up the wrong driveway, or something similarly stupid? Should be a regular occurrence. Is it?

Not a single of these shooters were in any danger

And every single one of them were legal gun owners with no prior criminal record

There will always be people who are not criminals until they commit a criminal act.  People who misuse their guns should be prosecuted and if found guilty, sentenced to the maximum

Meanwhile, there are 72 million Americans who did NOT misuse their firearms in a criminal matter.

Therefore, you do NOT punish the majority with absurd gun laws that real criminals are not going to obey anyway.

Don't we have laws against deliberately harming people for no reason?
