Yes, this isn't political, but why do "they" keep referring to shark "attacks?" When people go into the ocean, they have invaded the sharks' domain. Whatever happens to them is a result of the shark's natural behavior. If you don't want to be bitten by a shark, don't go into the water and act like shark food.
As we know with the "climate change" myth, man is NOT superior to nature.

So if you invade the shark's natural habitat, don't whine, cry, or act surprised if you get "attacked." Just bleed quietly and tell yourself "I asked for it." And if the shark manages to take an arm or a leg, be proud that you got to contribute to nature's food chain.

LOL!!! The sharks got a fisherman on a dock in the Keys yesterday. Guy hooked the shark and pulled him up onto the dock and the shark got him right there, out of the water. We go to the beach in Volusia County, New Smyrna Beach, which is known as the shark bite capital of the world. We have roughly 50% of the world's bites but the majority of them at Smyrna are at the inlet, where there are a lot of bait fish rushing through the faster water. The water is also murky there and the sharks typically get surfers who are passing through. We did have one last week where a 13 year old girl was sitting with friends in waist deep water and a bull shark bite her on the stomach.

Yep, I've seen reports of sharks biting people in any location, if the people are stupid enough to get close to a live shark's front end. No different from walking up on a live gator. Those things can whip around lightning fast and chomp you before you can move.
Animals are animals, and they are going to do what animals do, since they are animals and live in the animal world where animal behavior is normal (said in my best Kamala Harris imitation).

I respect them both but I guess because I've been around gators so much they don't really scare me. I've stood in waist deep water filling my boat tank with a five to six footer floating ten to fifteen feet away watching me. Your chances of being bitten at the beach, even in Volusia county, are pretty slim and much more so if you don't engage in surfing. Very few of the bites are for just the average swimmer in the water. They do happen, but surfers are the preferred target most of the time.

I was always told that to a shark, from below, a surfer or boogieboarder looks and moves in ways similar to a seal or sea lion....IOW...lunch!

I don't fear sharks, gators, or snakes, but I avoid them all were possible.
I don't harm the good little snakeys in my yard, and I haven't seen a poisonous one yet. A poisonous one would most likely NOT meet a good fate, if I could catch up to him.

The last two houses we have had, going back over thirty years, we had black snakes, specifically black racers, living in our yard. They eat venomous snakes and I saw one pygmy rattler the entire time.

Going a mile from my house, depending on the direction, you can run up on fox, nutria, moccasins, rattlesnakes, deer, etc.
One mile or less directly east will put you into the Mississippi River. Less than a mile directly south will put you in the middle of I-10.

I catch them overnight on the security cameras. Best one though was a few weeks ago. I got the below picture from our pool service. The pool guy had arrived but was scared to come through the gate because of this.
