Greetings, my fellow peckerwoods!!!!!!!
Hope everyone is well here in Wally World.
Had to stop by to crow about the Nuggets winning the NBA title tonight...
46 years without a championship is a long time....
I used to go to the Nuggets games at Denver's old McNichols Sports Arena back in the 80s, in the days when they often led the NBA in scoring-- with Dan Issel, Alex English, Calvin Natt, Fat Lever, et.al.-- but they could never get past Magic Johnson and the Showtime Lakers in the playoffs those days.
They improved after drafting Carmelo Anthony at #3, the year LeBron James was drafted #1, but went south when Carmelo and Chauncy Billups both left Denver, after losing 4-2 to Kobe Bryant and the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.
That was when I gave up on the Nuggets.
But they've got a good thing going with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray at present.
Great run in the NBA Playoffs this year, with some historic stats for Jokic.
