Question for cbis

Looking at spec-ing one these hot shot dual compressor condenser units that Trane is pushing. (TTA0724-D to be exact).

Any experience with them? Worth it?

Im a carrier dealer, so im not current on tranes product line.
It look like they are doubling up their evap coils, and two compressor in one condensing unit is interesting.
I know ductless companies have been making compressors that can run multiple fan coils for several years.

Im sure the cost is very high.

Lennox is nothing special.
They've had a hard time recovering from a series of unfortunate events.

Im not a fan of trane either, made in china now.

Biggest reason is that if your company can't make it easy to specify your product, I am not going out of my way to specify it. Lennox is, (or at least was) in that group.
HVAC Cos particularly are not very good at
documentation and clarity about their products with designers. They are geared to servicing installers and are constantly tinkering with the product so it is hard sometimes to keep up.

There are exceptions, like Greenheck and Titus. Greenheck has software I use to configure almost all their stuff. At the end I get full specs, fan curves, drawings and a 3d model to plug into my computer model.

Easy peasy.

Bought a York three years ago. Works well. Cools great. Got a 10 year repair guarantee (not warranty) from my dealer and get it serviced twice each year, costs $225 a year for service.

Yes. Dealer has been in business for a long time, 2nd generation owner. I've known the owner for 25 years and have never heard of anyone that had a problem.
