No, I did NOT buy one of these. My granddaughter's b/f did. The Taurus Raging Hunter with 6.75" barrel. Said he can't wait to shoot it. I told him to put about 5 rounds through it and he'll be ready to sell it. The price of ammo alone would stop ME from having one.
Despite its hairy ballistics and wrist bruising recoil, the .500 S&W is not as powerful as a standard .308, and the rifle is much more controllable for followup shots. However, this IS America, and to each his own. I'll save my $1100 for the gun and $80 for 20 rounds of ammo for something else.

Have 6" and 8" barrels for it. Original Monson, MA mfr'd., bought brand new by me in the mid-80's.
