the eagles move to 9-1. sort of feels like their record doesnt reflect their true performance this year but at the same time, the eagles have now beaten miami, dallas and KC. do they deserve to be 9-1? maybe not but i'll take it for sure.
last nite, as the eagles were down 17-7 and i was watching k.c with the ball in the third quarter, btu struggle to score i kept thinking to myself "i can't believe they are letting the eagles hang around." it's such a great feeling as a fan being a fan of the team that you know can win no matter what if they can just stay within striking distance.
the eagles are a flawed team. their back 7 is just not very good. their pass protection hasn't been as good this year and jalen hurts seems more prone to turnovers. but when push comes to shove, they find ways to make the plays in close games. this is why they invest so much in the defensive line and WR's. in close games, a disruptive pass rush is so important. in close games, the eagles WR's can track, adjust and properly catch deep balls.
home field/first round by is so vital. detroit lions/cowboys/49ers are breathing down the eagles necks this season. and the eagles still have to play buffalo, at dallas, san fran, at seattle. just a brutal schedule this year. last nights win was so big.

While watching that game, I kept thinking that Jalen Hurts needed to get the ball to Devontae Smith, and he finally did. That was the game breaker. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes hit Marquez Valdes-Scantling right in the hands in the end zone for that game winner at the end, and Valdes-Scantling dropped the ball. To make matters worse, for KC fans, Mahomes came back on 4th-and-25 and hit Justin Watson right in the hands to pick up the first down-- and Watson dropped the ball. IMO, KC never should have let Miami acquire Tyreek Hill. Their WRs this year are not as good as last year's.

It's always great to see the SEC North beat the Chiefs. That pass to Devonta Smith was very good, and his catch was even better. The critical run by D'Andre Swift and his pass catch shortly after reminded me of his play at Georgia. The coaches and scouts should come to the SECCG to see who they need to take in the next draft.

The coaches and scouts should come to the SECCG to see who they need to take in the next draft.the eagles have so many weapons that i almost forget that they have a talent like swift who is awesome in space. jordan davis is having a much better season and a big reason why the eagles have been great against the run this year. he showed flashes as a rookie last year but had a nagging foot injury and was never really the same. jalen carter is as good as advertised. nakobe dean hasn't been able to stay on the field b/c of injuries. nolan smith hasn't gotten many snaps yet this year because the eagles are so deep at his position. d'andre swift went to a philly high school, st joes prep. the same high school has produced jon runyan jr (his dad played for the eagles), marvin harrison jr (his dad played for the colts but is from philly), jeremiah trotter jr (plays at clemson and will be a star at LB, rich gannon (oakland qb who took the raiders to the SB), kevin stefanski (current browns coach), kyle mccord (starting qb for ohio state). there's a few others i can't remember at the moment.

I haven't seen a team stop that scrum the eagles use on the goal line.
