Told you so about what? The playoff system, as broken as it may be, is still better than the poll system and light years better than the BCS. A 12 team playoff means there could easily be a 3 loss team playing for the NC. With this expansion from 4to 12, we see the beginning of further expansion. Soon it will be 16 teams. As streaming takes over and we have to pay for each playoff game, more games will be added. Look at the NFL, the NBA, whatever hockey is called, etc. Two teams with 9-8 records in the NFL playoffs.I don't understand the jump from 4 to 12 as 8 always seemed like the right number to me but it is still a heck of a lot better than computers picking two teams essentially out of a hat (since they never disclosed the computer criteria fully) or a group of biased reporters and coaches picking a winner after bowl games that don't involve the best teams playing each other. That's not to say the current system doesn't have faults, it's just better to me because the winner is decided on the field.

In YOUR opinion...yet you're here bitching about the conditions today that THAT system kicked off... One, I am not bitching about anything. I chuckled at the idea that NIL simply made the practice of paying players to play at a certain school more visible and accepted. Two, how did moving to a playoff create NIL and the transfer portal? Those conditions are ruining the game at a much faster rate than playoff games are.

All good points. Unfortunately, my first reaction is the visual of cowboys herding cats. We have witnessed nearly three decades of complete ineptitude in any attempt at rational governance. I cannot see anything today that gives me hope that salvation is on the horizon.
