Just started reading this book. As I suspected, it draws on a lot of the ideas that were originally promulgated in the late 70s and 80s as the fabric of the urban environment began to unravel. Those ideas were considered radical at the time, but nearly everything those OGs said would happen has occurred in places all over the country; in big cities to small towns and everywhere in between.
Good to see the realization of the problem and the movement to start fixing it all.

It is a book about regional and city planning. I'm only a chapter in, but it appears to be affirming prognostications I read about decades ago, but that fell on deaf ears for reasons he now discusses.

Will look forward to your input upon completion. Update: This is starting to read like a novel; a real 'page-turner'...for planning nerds. The macro-economics he discusses regarding government is fascinating and a little mind-blowing.
