If it is not a sin, why can't a non-believer enjoy eternity in Heaven? It isn't a sin, yet it's the only thing that that will keep you out of this christian paradise you claim exists? Seems to me, it's the greatest sin there is. It's a mega-sin; the queen mother of all sins. Clung to disbelief after repeatedly seeing the evidence and refusal to in the face of what is known to accept God and believe that Jesus is the savior who grants us eternal life if only by faith we believe is indeed the mother of all sins. Some of the words you’ve written here can cause some to wonder if you’ve said no to God one too many times and if the Holy Spirit has not yet been grieved away. Hopefully one day you will see the light. I've said it before, but it bears repeating: I say "no" to your god, not mine. And I only say no so often because you never shut up about it. If you'd mine your own business and spend more time worrying about your own eternal soul instead of mine, you'd be a better person, and I wouldn't have to keep reminding you that the answer is still NO.

We're all sinners...we are born sinners, because of Original Sin. The wages of sin is death. God knew we couldn't accomplish sin-free living, so he sent his only begotten son to pay our debt. It's easy, for anyone who has half a functioning brain. God knows you're a dick, but wants to save you anyways. So he made it so easy, even a WALLy dummy can do it.

I don't want to be saved by your god. Your god is a flaming, asshole imposter. I prefer to be saved by the real God. Please elaborate. I'd like to know who the "real God" is. First you must enter the "Church of the Holy Agnostic", and cleanse your mind of all you think you know about God. As you claim to be a man of faith, I would advise you not to do that, because there is no going back. You have your beliefs. You cannot know mine without losing yours.

Theres a 900 page book called the Bible that tells you all about God ag·nos·tic [aɡˈnästik] noun a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.

I was raised Christian, have read good chunks of The Book; I sang in a church choir for two years. I even took religion classes in college, and studied and wrote a thesis on medieval Christian scholasticism. I'll put my knowledge of Christianity up against yours anyday. None of that matters, however. Reading the Bible to know God is a useless waste. The Bible is not about God. It is about people...and the nature of power. Are you willing to risk your faith by seriously questioning it? No. You are not. So do not talk about 'cop out'. It is a bad look for you. Nevertheless, I'll be here if you ever decide to make the journey.

Is there a reason you turned your back on Christ? And spare me the same bs you just gave as a reason. I will pray for you

Especially something coming from a nonbeliever.

Stop with the insulting 'lost soul', holy roller bullshit now or I will have to explain in more explicit detail what's wrong with your faith.Let's hear it, nothing you can say will convince me to move to the "dark side". Especially something coming from a nonbeliever. I have no interest or desire in convincing you of anything about matters of faith. Please show me the same courtesy, and stop the condescending, insulting, incessant, non-stop, proselytizing. I explained to you the journey you would need to take to comprehend my beliefs, and I recommended that you not take that trip. Leave it at that.

You are free to jettison whatever religion you faithfully believe and then try to have a serious conversation with me about God. Lemme know when you're ready.

You are free to jettison whatever religion you faithfully believe and then try to have a serious conversation with me about God. Lemme know when you're ready. A sports forum isn't the place for serious theological discussions. But I should mention that I had an interesting mystical (and intellectual) journey in the early 90s-- from my serious 20 year sojourn as an agnostic to Eastern Orthodox Christianity. I would have to write a lengthy book to properly explain it. I was always intellectually curious, and my childhood and teen pastors (Protestant) could never answer my questions.

It's as good a place as any. Can you give us a CliffNotes version of the CliffNotes version?
