I TOLD y'all UF will be just fine, even with 1 loss. This season is far from over. If they keep playing like they did Saturday, they shouldn't lose another game. In regular season.
FWIW, people are crediting the wrong guy for LSU's fake FG. It was Trent Domingue, the kicker, who called the play. Miles called for the FG, but Domingue convinced him to go for the fake, since they had been practicing it all week. After the fact, TD says he remembers bobbling the ball, and then nothing else! He says he "blacked out." Can't blame him .......... I would have been scared shitless too, under those circumstances.
UF MUST beat UGALY in Jax on Halloween and then we can start talking about a possible rematch in Atlanta.
The two week break for UF couldn't be more timely after the Will Grier suspension news last week. It will give Treon Harris more time to practice and get ready for the poodles. IMO, I don't think he has the upside that Grier has, but he's plenty good enough to get UF to Atlanta.
Once in Atlanta, anything is possible. Bottom line, UF has to continue to work hard to get better from day to day and week to week. If the Gators do that, they will get a chance in some big games.

I'm thinking the gal on the soccer team with the strongest leg could do the job on FGs. I just don't know if she'd have enough leg for kickoffs. Of course, she would have to be told to run off the field after kicking off: Scott Carter @gatorsscott · 4h4 hours ago Scott Carter Retweeted Gator Recruiting Jorge Powell suffered injury at LSU... Scott Carter added, Gator Recruiting @_Gators_ All Call for Kickers! #Gators are looking for walk-on kickers. Visit the football office today by 4:30 PM to sign up for a tryout. Gators Football Retweeted Gator Recruiting @_Gators_ · 4h4 hours ago Must be enrolled at UF with a minimum of 12 credit hours. That's a joke, right? No joke, that sign up for a kicker tryout is for real. Both Gators kickers are injured now. Judging by Austin Hardin's deep kickoffs at LSU after Jorge Powell was injured on a kickoff return against your tigers, I think his injury is in his head.

LSU still has some pretty rough speedbumps to bounce over, while I think the Gators have much smoother sailing. Thanks for making it tough on the Tigers. Games like that one show you that you can ALWAYS get better, and the Bayou Bengals for sure need to improve in places.

But don't scoff so fast at a girl. If she is built right, she could distract a few of the opposition as she jiggles, struts, bounces ........... ummmmmmm ........... runs down the field.
Imagine one of THESE as a Gator!

LSU's last 4 games are as tough as they come, but after UF beats UGALY and LSU beats bama, the rematch talk will start up.

If she can kick, she'll do. She only has to kick off 10 yards, then head for the sidelines, shaking her ass as hard as she can!

He said he has never seen a program tweet for kicker tryouts. Marcus Spear opined UF several someones on campus who can kick. I guess we'll see.
If it were me, I'd have Austin Hardin meeting with the team psychiatrist.

You never know ............. there's always that kid from a town of 5,000 whose team sucked, but he could kick 80 yards. If the team isn't known, usually the players aren't either.
All I know is that the GOOD Australian punters only go to LSU. (Cheap shot at Michigan)
The taunting call was chickenshit, his actions were so minute.

Wonder if Jeff Chandler, or Caleb Sturgis have any younger brothers? On a side note . Does Spurrier have any eligibility left? He needs something to do, and it couldn't be any worse.

With Jorge Powell out for the remainder of the season and uncertainty surrounding the status of Austin Hardin, Florida coach Jim McElwain sent out a call for help to the student body earlier this week in hopes of finding a place-kicker. The response has been somewhat overwhelming.
McElwain said more than 200 students have signed up for kicking tryouts, and he expects to find someone there capable of kicking extra points and field goals should Hardin not be able to answer the call against Georgia next week.
“As long as they can flip it through the uprights, I’m good with it,” McElwain said Wednesday on the SEC coaches’ teleconference. “We had I think a final count of 216. We’re still working through it right now. Obviously, a lot of things NCAA-wise before we make any decision. But by the end of the week, we hope to have some candidates that could come out and help us.
“Hey, this is something that other places have done in the past. We were successful with it at Colorado State and ended up getting a heck of a kicker (Jared Roberts) out of it.”

By Chris Harry GatorZone.com Senior Writer
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- If anyone was questioning the sincerity of Jim McElwain’s all-points bulletin call for place kickers Monday, the 216 currently in the mix to wear a pair of Florida-issued cleats should shoot down any doubt.
So should McElwain’s track record for turning the duties over to a stranger.
In the spring of 2012 at Colorado State, McElwain announced tryouts for special teams players and came away with an eventual Mountain West Conference honorable mention performer. His name?
“That was ‘Kicker.’ That’s what we called him,” McElwain said during the Wednesday teleconference with Southeastern Conference coaches. “He did a great job for us. I loved that kid.”
“Kicker” actually had a name: Jared Roberts, who went 12-for-20 on field goals and 57-for-58 as a senior in 2014, including a 52-yarder that helped ice a big win.
After watching incumbent kicker Jorge Powell suffer a knee injury on a kickoff in Saturday night’s 35-28 loss at LSU, and uncertain of how much the Gators can count on Austin Hardin after he was sidelined the previous three games by a hamstring injury, McElwain put out the word via social media Monday he was looking for a kicker. Who and what exactly such a kicker’s role would be as the 13th-ranked Gators (6-1, 4-1) move through this bye week and look to next weekend’s annual showdown with Georgia (5-2, 3-2) at Jacksonville is to be determined.
The UF-UGA winner assumes control of the SEC East Division.
And, of course, it could come down to a kick.
“As long as they can flip it through the uprights, I’m good with it,” McElwain said of the pool of feet he’s expected to watch the next few days. “We’re still working through it. There are a lot of things NCAA-wise you have to be sure of. By the end of the week, we hope to have some candidates who can come out and help us.”
In the interim, the Gators will use the open date to stay sharp and do some fundamental work, the likes of which they went through during preseason and spring practices. A more specific focus on the Bulldogs won’t come until a later in the week.
Florida is hopeful it will have redshirt freshman tight end C’yontai Lewis (hand), out since the season opener, back in the lineup. Backup offensive linemen Travaris Dorsey and Kavaris Harkless also should return to the mix.
The return of inside linebacker Alex Anzalone (shoulder) remains a down-the-line process, though McElwain did leave room for hope in saying, “maybe not as far as we thought.”
In the bigger picture, McElwain reiterated he was pleased with how his team responded to a week chock full of distractions to fight the Tigers -- and the rabid crowd of more than 103,000 at “Death Valley” -- down to the wire Saturday night.
There is still concern with a UF running game that netted just 99 yards at LSU -- versus surrendering 221 to Leonard Fournette and friends -- and now ranks 12th in the conference at 126.7 yards per game. The Gators are averaging only 3.51 yards per carry, second-lowest in the SEC.
“All great teams are built on running the football and stopping the run defensively,” McElwain said. “At the same time, we have to be able to produce more [and] that will help us in the play-action game.”
The key component in that play-action element is quarterback Treon Harris, who in his return to the starter’s role went 17 of 32 for 271 yards, a couple touchdowns and no interceptions. Harris struggled, though, on the final three possessions when the Gators had a chance to tie the game, completing only five of his final 15 throws.
“He was able to see some really good things from the video that I’m sure he wants back,” McElwain said. “At the same time, I was happy with how he handled the environment. He made some plays that were big for us. We look forward to having this week [and] just keep getting a little bit better. There were a lot of things we need to get better at from that ballgame, yet we’re not going to hang our heads. We’re going to move forward and get better. Treon is part of that.”

Dallas Stubbs, former Gainesville High School Purple Hurricane PK, won the backup kicker job tryout. He'll be on the sideline and ready to go for UGALY. Austin Hardin is the PK if he can or is willing to do his job. I still think something is wrong with him between the ears. I'd probably let Hardin boom them deep on kickoffs and give Stubbs a shot at FGs if both are available. When it comes to FGs, Hardin kicks them too low and has lost his confidence to boot. Gainesville High actually had this reported first:
GHS Hurricanes @ghshurricanes Former GHS kicker Dallas Stubbs will be on the sideline for UF against UGA next Saturday. Dallas earned a position as a back-up kicker.
