Only problem is ET, he had decommittment on his mind because he was told he would be allowed to decommit before his offer was pulled. Once they got Polendy board they had no room for Polendy, and most aren't all that sure he isn't just a large frame wide receiver instead of a tight end.

Bottom line, UF kicked scUM ass head to head. I'm sure it won't be that way in the future, but it was in the 16 recruiting year.

This would be a good pick up, worth giving up a spot in the 18 class, if this kid wants to come to UF. If he gets a hardship waiver, he could play for UF in 17. This from Gator Country:
Nick de la Torre @nickdelatorregc Clemson transfer OL Jake Fruhmorgen is visiting the #Gators today.

UF 8; scUM 2 I understand your not liking it, scUM didn't get them so they didn't want them, but that doesn't change what happened throughout the year. UF got 80% of the kids they wanted out of south Florida beating the home town team head to head. scUM's wall around south Florida was torn down in the 2016 recruiting year by UF.

Given our depth on the OL, this would be an outstanding pickup even with him taking a redshirt in 17. UF would have him at a bigger size and better strength to go along with that Clemson experience for the 18 and 19 seasons. This from Gator Country:
Written by Nick de la Torre, February 11, 2017
The Florida Gators hosted its first junior day of the 2018 recruiting cycle but most didn’t expect a certain rising junior to be on campus Saturday.
Former Clemson offensive lineman, and Tampa native, Jake Fruhmorgen took his first visit to Gainesville since he was recruited by Will Muschamp and his staff in 2013.
“It’s good. It’s kind of funny seeing familiar faces,” Fruhmorgen told Gator Country. “It’s cool coming back and see the facilities and the new facilities like the indoor and stuff.” Fruhmorgen was an Army All-American in 2013 and considered Florida during his first recruitment. He eventually eliminated Florida due to the coaching staff being on the hot seat. Fruhmorgen chose Clemson, where he started 13 games over two seasons before a shoulder injury ended his 2016 season.
Shortly after the season Fruhmorgen decided that he just wasn’t the right fit for Clemson and announced that he would be transferring away from the program. Having been able to play for a National Championship team, Fruhmorgen believes he has a better perspective on what he’s looking for during his second go around as a recruit.
"It feels weird. I feel like a little kid again. I kinda know what to look for in a team now,” he said. “I’m looking forward to it and just trying to make the right decision this time. I did two years of college football, so I know what I’m looking for.”
Fruhmorgen hasn’t narrowed down a list of potential schools but he wants to make a decision “sooner rather than later.” He mentioned LSU as another school he was interested in, but when speaking about Florida and what appealed to him about the university, distance seemed to be a factor.
“It’s more appealing (now), closer to home,” Fruhmorgen responded when asked if Florida is more appealing now than they were when he was a senior in high school. “They’re definitely successful. Coach Mac has brought in a good coaching staff; good players and they’re doing well. I always watched the Gators, even at Clemson.” Due to NCAA transfer regulations, Fruhmorgen will be ineligible to play in 2017 but has a redshirt season available to him, meaning he would have three years to play two seasons. He resisted redshirting when he first got to Clemson, but an older, more experienced player now he sees the benefits of being able to sit out for a season.
“I want to sit out a year. I need to get a little stronger and it would be better for me, more beneficial as an offensive lineman. That’s something that I wished I had known back then,” he said. “Getting redshirted is a good thing. It doesn’t mean your not good at all. It just means your not there yet.”
Fruhmorgen had the chance to meet with the Florida Gators new offensive line coach on Saturday “He’s great. He’s really enthusiastic,” he said of Davis. “I liked that he’s very forward with you, very honest with you a very smart guy. I like that a lot.”
He also had the opportunity to meet with Jim McElwain, who made sure to let Fruhmorgen know he is more than welcome in Gainesville. “I like Coach Mac,” Fruhmorgen told Gator Country. “He’s upfront and honest with you. He said they’d love to have me here. He’s happy I came up.”

You got 100% of the kids in your recruiting class; however, we've been discussing the head to head battles between UF and scUM. The candy canes got 20% of those kids. You asked about the 9 from the article in an unaware state of the facts, but I gave you 10 after doing a little research. Your question has been answered whether you like it or not. Three of the recruits were committed to scUM at one time. UF did not stop recruiting them and they ended up flipping to UF. UF did not at any time use negative recruiting on any of these kids. Towards the end of the recruiting cycle, the scUM coaching staff acted on the UF NCAA recruiting violation rumor that you advised me was started by a scUM fan, likely coordinated by the scUM coaching staff since they acted upon the rumor. This is why I consider scUM to be the proper name for the culture of corruption that is and has always existed at scUM. I just wish my computer would quit trying to fix my use of it every time I use it as I intend. scUM has earned the name, again.

I agree with Steve, that 2001 December loss was huge and hurt. Besides Ernest Graham having his knee twisted and injured by FSU's Darnell Dockett, the Gators D was down to 3 DTs due to late season injuries. UT did run the ball down out throats which was the difference in the game. As I recall, a healthy by the bowl date UF beat 10-1 ACC champ Maryland 56-23 in the Orange Bowl. Spurrier's most hurtful loss:
Steve Spurrier lost only 89 games over his 26-year coaching career, but one in particular sticks out.
Following the Atlanta Falcons devastating loss in last Sunday’s Super Bowl, the Orlando Sentinel caught up with former coaches to ask about the most difficult losses of their careers.
Spurrier’s choice was Florida’s 2001 loss to No. 4 Tennessee in his final home game with The Swamp. The Gators entered the contest as 17-point favorites over the Vols after the game was moved to the end of the season because of 9/11.
Florida was ranked No. 2 at the time and on a four-game winning streak after knocking off Georgia, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Florida State. Running back Earnest Graham was out for the contest after suffering a knee injury two weeks prior against the Seminoles. The Vols upset Florida 34-32.
Here’s what Spurrier had to say to the Orlando Sentinel:
“We had such a super, super team that year,” Spurrier said. “That’s why the loss was so hard to take. Tennessee ran it right down our throats.”
“We finished third in the nation that year and didn’t win anything,” Spurrier said. “That Tennessee loss was so crucial, because I really thought we had a team that could go all the way. Losing that game hurt a lot. I don’t know if you ever completely get over a loss like that.”
“The year we won the national title against FSU in ’96, we were very fortunate because a bunch of things had to happen for us to even get the rematch with FSU in New Orleans [at the Sugar Bowl],” Spurrier said. “Hey, you’re never going to hear me complain.”

Ron Zook, Urban Meyer, Crazy Eyes Muschamp. Hell, there were stories this year on two or three kids that dropped UF saying they couldn't trust the coaches there. I don't condemn them. That's how many play the game these days. UM is always negative recruited against. You also don't seem to understand that recruiting is dynamic. Because you wanted a kid twelve months ago doesn't mean you want him today. By signing day this year I believe we were still working on the OL Telfort and the DB Edwards. Not sure if they were still interested in Houston but Henderson was dropped after his stunt at the UnderArmour game. Gamble was allowed to walk quite a while back after Polenday committed.I didn't read any interest in anyone else that UF over the last couple of weeks. Be happy, you got a good class. We got the best OL in south Florida in Donaldson and one of the best DB's in Bandy as well as the top Juco DB in Dean. I think the defensive coaches are thrilled. Now we just sit back and wait to see who Randy is going after next year so we can offer them. LOL!!

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Twenty-Seven University of Florida football players were named to the 2016 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday by league commissioner Greg Sankey. Darrell, you just keep proving you didn't follow recruiting this year like you have done in the past. Kemore Gamble is a 4 star TE recruit on all of the recruiting sites. Brian Polendey is a 3 star TE recruit on all of the recruiting sites. Gamble is listed from 6'3"/220 to 6'4"/235 depending on the site. Polendey is listed from 6'5"/223 to 6'4"/240 depending on the site. Clearly they are both TEs, but UF took the higher rated TE from right under the noses of the scUM recruiters in a head to head battle. It's far fetched to say the least that scUM wanted Gamble to walk because they had received a commitment from a 3 star Texas TE recruit. UF has a solid commit from a similar to Polendey 3 star TE recruit from Alabama who couldn't get his academics squared away so he could sign with UF on NSD. That recruit didn't give Gamble any cause to leave the UF recruiting class any more than Polendey caused Gamble to decommit from scUM and commit to UF the following week.

When he decommitted his comments were that the old staff showed him a lot of love but the new staff, Richt & company, not so much. Star ratings are for fans. I'd venture out to say most coaches, at least most successful coaches, don't really rely too much on what Rivals or Scout or some other group rates a player. I hope he has a great career at UF, but it is delusional to think you stole a player we were not even recruiting anymore.

Look in a mirror ET. Use Google. CaneInsight had a blog a year ago about the new staff not wanting to keep your boy Gamble. And Twitter lit up when Henderson pulled his little stunt at the US game.
