Contrary to what you said Darrell, both INTs were on Jeff Driskel's very poor decisions, not pressure from the defense. Throw the balls away, kick two makeable field goals and UF still wins even with all of the other TOs. Miami playing better on D with a year older defense wasn't a surprise to me. I gave Miami this much long before the season. You can find posts in this thread. However, again, it wasn't the Miami D that beat UF. Without a UF QB making boneheaded plays, the Gators win. It's the truth whether you like it or not. Now, now.....Them Gators offense did just about EVERYTHING you could do to f-word that game up.....People are STILL shaking their heads from yesterday.....That's it in a nutshell....There's gonna be a few Cane fans that actually believe they won the game,,,,,,,and they would be right ......just look at the final score....Done deal...Carve it in stone

Come on ET. You know football better than that. On both picks his pocket collapsed and he was on the run. That is a forced error.

No Darrell, not in either case. The one in the flat was a poorly timed throw. The one into triple coverage at the goal line could have just as easily been thrown into the endzone stands. Both were poor QB throws/decisions.
What's worse is the game confirmed my gut feeling that Jeff Driskel is less than 100% committed as a UF QB has to be. I also discussed that earlier in this thread. During the summer, Jeff tweeted that he was bored. Brent Pease tweeted back for him to spend more time in the film room. It wasn't long after that Jeff signed a baseball contract with the Boston Red Sox. The combined instances along with the insider word from last season that Jeff did not always do his film work for games sent a red flag up for me. Besides the red flag, I now have bells and whistles sounding too. This from the Gatorzone article on the previous page:
Harrison was asked about Driskel's demeanor in the locker room.
"He was aware of possible mistakes and he was aware of that we need to really get our foot on the pedal these next two weeks,'' Harrison said. "He was like, 'We really need to step up our urgency as a team.' "
On a frustrating day for the Gators and their fans, that's something they can all agree on.
My concern is Jeff Driskel doesn't care enough to put the foot on the pedal if he didn't make this commitment in his spring and summer practices. Unless there is a dramatic turnaround in Jeff, I will be surprised if he isn't playing minor league baseball next summer. I've come to the realization that Jeff is closer to Doug Johnson than Tim Tebow.

To post something Gator positive, the #8 Gator volleyball team went 1-1 in a tournament at Texas this weekend. Yesterday, the Gators upset #2 Stanford 3-1. Today #1 Penn State beat UF 3-0. It's only the second time in Gator history that UF volleyball played the #1 and #2 ranked teams the same weekend. The Gators should be better for scheduling up like this.

The 2nd pick he was actually on a designed sprint to the right, there was pressure, but not like the first one. Main thing is he never had a chance to square up his shoulders and threw across his body. Howard read it all the way. But remember, there is a reason he was the top CB out of HS last year. The first pick the QB was most definitely flushed. The error he made was retreating instead of stepping up in the pocket. His fumble was on the O line and our defensive rush.

IOW, you agree the interceptions were because Driskel fucked up. No doubt the funbles were due to the Cane defense, and without the Cane defense UF would have won even without Driskel's poor play. But, I'll need to see how the season unfolds before I'd say Miami is a better team overall. They were the better team Saturday.

In reality, almost all interceptions you can say the QB did something wrong. My point being the U defense forced his mistakes.

It's hard to imagine TN coming out of FL with anything but their street clothes BUT stranger things have happened...right now, I think the only big if is what the spread will be....sorry Wayne ......Where is he anyway ?

did the Miami db's actually catch the errant passes from driskell? or did the uf wr's catch those balls and then place them in the hands of their opponents? even if they were mistaken decisions by the qb, defenders still have to execute and hold on to the pass, something that not every db does. they deserve credit for that. I don't think there's a more frustrating way to lose a game than to dominate on defense and between the 20s on offense, but implode multiple times in the shadow of the goalposts. only thing you can do is try to learn from the errors, move on, and take out that frustration on whomever you play next. mark scott tosu 81

LOL!!! Dooly? Really? As I said, unless a ball is tipped or something like that, you can pretty much always say an interception was a bad decision by the QB. But when the QB is under pressure and forced out of the pocket, having to move his feet, etc., when he throws, it is a forced error. The defenders were where they were suppose to be and made the plays. A year ago this team probably would not have made those picks. They have grown up.

Lizard Lickers can never admit they got beat by a team. They either didn't want to be there or just didn't care enough to try to win. They only beat themselves. They never get beaten.

For those keeping up with recruiting, this comes as no surprise. It's really more of an it's about time moment. UF still has up to 8 slots to fill with anticipated signings at 21 or 22:

Benjamin Knox's anticipated exit from Florida's 2014 class finally took place Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-6, 260-pound offensive tackle from DeLand decommitted from the Gators after not hearing from the staff in more than a month.
"I think they stopped recruiting me," he said. "I called them once or twice, and they didn't answer."
Knox picked UF at its Junior Day on Feb. 16 but told The Sun in April he was 55 percent solid and would likely back off his pledge if Florida landed another prospect at his position.
Knox struggled when he worked out at UF on June 15 and was one of only two commits who didn't speak with Gators coach Will Muschamp at the camp. The other, New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine offensive guard Joseph Paul, is also gone from Florida's class, which now has 14 members.
Knox lists Louisville as his leader and plans to make a decision on signing day.
