FSU is just so so. The Gators are going to physically put a whipping on the nolies on Ron Zook Field.
I see FSU lost a DT commitment out of Jax today. I guess FSU is giving up a 3 or 4 star player to get a 5 star world beater.

Oh please...you guys are still a train wreck.
Yeah, McClain decommitted. I'm not sure what it means. I liked him as a player, but I trust Jimbo, so if it is said they offered him a greyshirt and he respectfully declined, then I trust the coaches.

I'm not buying it. That's the equivalent of pulling his ship offer at this late date. If true, at least it's better than offering the greyshirt after he signs like bama and LSU do when the numbers don't work because of oversigning.

It looks like McClain got upset when Pruitt left. He's been committed since last March and hasn't taken any visits. He set up a visit this weekend to Nebraska and Jimbo pulled his offer. That is way different than saying postpone your enrollment to January by taking a greyshirt. It may be that Jimbo has a higher rated SDE/DT that wants in. We'll see soon now with NSD next Wednesday. In any case, FSU has another ship now.

Umm..no. Recruits take visits all the time, despite being committed. So why now would Jimbo pull an offer from a kid who, according to you, wanted to take visits?
McClain was unsure when Pruitt left, but then said he was committed after Jimbo did an in-home after he left. He set up a visit because he didn't want to greyshirt....which is what we were offering.

When McClain committed last March, he knew he was committing to greyshirt? Again, I'm not buying it. The easier to believe straight cause and affect is the Pruitt leaving situation. It's mentioned in a story on Scout that McClain was having second thoughts about FSU after Pruitt's departure.
At least Jimbo is being consistent at this late date. He pulled Worton's and McClain's offers because they were looking around at this late date. For that, I cannot fault him. If more coaches did it, there would be far less NSD or last weekend before NSD bs going on with players pulling surprises with the public.

Zach Abolverdi@zachabolverdi Rivals reporting Adoree' Jackson will not take an official this weekend. Not ideal for #UF, but better than him visiting #USC or #UCLA.

Zach A's 2/1 class prediction. He'll make his final prediction on Tuesday before NSD:
I’ve added Jackson and taken out McKenzie. I’ll be making my official predictions Tuesday.
QB Will Grier QB Treon Harris RB Brandon Powell WR Ryan Sousa WR C.J. Worton TE DeAndre Goolsby TE C’yontai Lewis TE Moral Stephens OL Travaris Dorsey OL Kavaris Harkless OL Nolan Kelleher OL Damian Prince OL David Sharpe OL Drew Sarvary DL/OL Taven Bryan DT Khairi Clark DT Thomas Holley DE Rocel McWilliams DE Justus Reed DE Gerald Willis III CB Duke Dawson CB Jalen Tabor CB Quincy Wilson ATH Adoree’ Jackson ATH J.C. Jackson ATH Deiondre Porter
That's a class that will come in ranked between 6-10 on the recruiting services. Given it follows a it's great to be a 4 & 8er year, the class will be outstanding.

Don't think you get Harris...and I think JC Jackson is a tossup between uf and Miami. I think FSU is out for him. But the Noles hold off everyone for Harris.

McClain committed to Nebraska today.
JC Jackson drove up to Gainesville today and then drove back home in time to meet inhome with Al Golden. Really boring.
Adoree' Jackson went to USC tonight and will go to UCLA tomorrow. Neither have a track program that can compare to UF and USC will feel the affects of probation for two more seasons. Bottom line, I don't think UF is out of it. We'll see on NSD.
Treon Harris? He's probably just spying for Jimbo.

I think you're holding out hope for Adoree Jackson....I think UF is fading, but I could be wrong.

I think you're holding out hope for Adoree Jackson....I think UF is fading, but I could be wrong. If track wasn't involved, I'd agree with you. His parents wanted UTn, but he ruled them out last week. Since he's being allowed to think for himself, it doesn't make sense to rule out UF. As far as I know, there will still be 4 hats on the table: UF, LSU, USC, and UCLA. Some are saying Treon Harris is down to UF and AU even though he remains committed publically to FSU. We'll see soon enough. Honestly, I watched his tape and wasn't as impressed as all of the experts. Like you, I could be wrong and will be if he flips to UF. I think Jeff Driskel and Will Grier is a winning combination at QB for the next two seasons.

LOL! Way to go FSU. Not only did you lose McClain to Nebraska, you burned a bridge to Jacksonville Sandlewood. The Sandlewood HC, Geis, said it best, "there's other schools." I'm sure he'll remember this the next time the nolies come calling:
Florida State is out for Sandalwood defensive end Blake McClain.
Saints coach Adam Geis confirmed Thursday morning that McClain, a Super 11, Super 24 and Super 75 selection, had backed off his commitment to the Seminoles due to being asked to grayshirt. McClain (6-foot-4, 260 pounds) is now considering Nebraska and South Carolina, Geis said.

Grayshirting allows an athlete to enroll later and count toward the next year’s signing class, largely because of numbers issues. Programs have 25 scholarships annually to offer, although that number can go much higher with creative roster management. Florida State currently has 27 commitments in the 2014 class.
“They were over their offers, overcommitted and trying to talk guys into taking grayshirts,” Geis said.
McClain committed to Florida State last March and resisted overtures to seriously consider visits elsewhere because of his relationship with defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. But Pruitt left for the same position — and a big pay raise — at Georgia.
“My guys committed to Jeremy Pruitt; he’s not there anymore,” Geis said. “It didn’t take long for things not to be the same. To wait till the 11th hour, it’s a bad business decision, it wasn’t fair. With Jeremy, that wouldn’t have happened. I know it’s a business, but these are still kids. But that’s OK. There’s other schools.”

Zach Abolverdi@zachabolverdi OL Damian Prince tells @hamiltonespn his #UF visit was the best official he has taken. Sticking with my #Gators prediction for NSD.
That's a 5 star OL. If UF picks up Prince and Adoree' Jackson, that would be two 5 star players on NSD to go along with a couple of 4 star players.
Hey steaksauce, UF might be 8th in the nation, but not 8th in the SEC.
