Gator Recruit #24 - Treon Harris:
Written by Andrew Spivey, February 5, 2014
The Gators have flipped another Florida State commitment this time its quarterback Treon Harris (5-11, 180, Miami, FL Booker T Washington) who flipped on Wednesday morning.
Harris has been committed to Florida State since July but visited Florida, Auburn and Miami in consecutive weeks.
According to Harris’ brother and offensive coordinator at Booker T the offense at Florida was the reason for the flip.
“Coach(Kurt) Roper coming in and the offense changing its similar to the offense we run at Booker T,” Tim Harris Jr. said. “That part will help his chances at Florida and allow him to show his skill set at the next level. Florida’s system puts him in the best situation to succeed and it’s an ideal fit for him.”
Harris joins Will Grier as quarterbacks in the Class of 2014 and joins Quincy Wilson, Brandon Powell and Khairi Clark as South Florida prospects in the class.

Worton wasn't a surprise. Harris was. Any news from Prince and Jackson? I was reading this morning that Prince was trending more towards Maryland, and things seemed to point towards Jackson staying out west.

I read regarding Harris that the reason he flipped is Winston told him he'd be at FSU for 2 more years.
It's PROBABLY sour grapes, but I can hope beyond hope that it is true. Having Winston two more years couldn't be any more magnificient.

Having Winston two more years couldn't be any more magnificient. No way does Winston not take the $ and run after the 14 season. He might need some $ to pay that young lady down in Tampa. Damian Prince to Maryland. It's hard to beat the hometown school, 25 minutes from home. Of course, Tony James chose Oregon, but UF slow played the kid when a bird in the hand would have been worth two in the bush. Adoree'Jackson? I honestly don't think anyone knows. I know he wants track and football and that leads to UF. However, I've been wondering for a while now how UF getting Jalen Tabor as an EE might affect his decision. The only certain thing is there will be 4 teams Jackson is picking from: LSU, UF, UCLA, and USC.

UF's NSD is almost over. All of the commits LOIs are in and the 9 EEs will sign their LOIs together at 2 PM EST on campus. The last two players on the board are Lorenzo Carter who is going to Georgia and Adoree' Jackson who likely nobody outside of himself knows what he's going to do. If over, UF has a top 10 class of 24 recruits, say 7 or 8 average ranking. If UF pulls Jackson, it could be a take the class ranking up another couple of places to borderline top 5:

Eh, I would honestly be surprised if she sued Winston at this point. But in either event, a judgment against someone is good for up to 20 years, so it is a moot point.
Secondly, I agree with you that it seems unlikely that he would pass up a #1 overall pick and huge money, if that is what is available. Stranger things have happened though.
Didn't Andrew Luck pass up a first round pick to play his senior season?

Florida coach Will Muschamp will announce at UF’s National Signing Day news conference today that strong safety Cody Riggs will transfer, according to sources.
Riggs, who started every game for the Gators in 2013, had 51 tackles and 1.5 sacks as a junior. He is currently in school at UF and is on track to graduate in June.
Riggs, a former starting cornerback, has expressed a desire to return to the position, sources told The Sun.

Wow...sort of surprised at that. Purifoy left early along with Roberson. Now Riggs.
Don't get me wrong, Hargreaves is a freakin' stud...but that's a lot of talent to lose in the backfield.
Luckily, CB is one position where a young guy can come in and play early.

Luckily, CB is one position where a young guy can come in and play early. Cody started at free safety last season. I don't think we have room in the inn for him to move back to CB. Since he's graduating, he can transfer to another school that will let him play CB immediately.

With Cody Riggs' transfer, UF could sign up to 26. Sitting at 24 and if the day ends that way, UF will start with 83 ship players. I really hope UF can pull Adoree' Jackson. I know he's a highly rated CB, but he can play offense too. I wonder if in the long run his future might be on the offense?

Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun grades UF's recruiting class - guess he knows Adoree' Jackson isn't coming to UF:
By Robbie Andreu Staff writer
Published: Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 1:10 p.m.
Last Modified: Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 1:10 p.m.
QUARTERBACK: With highly rated Will Grier already on campus, getting Treon Harris to flip from FSU is a huge signing-day bonus. GRADE: A+
RUNNING BACK: The Gators wanted a change-of-pace guy after Dalvin Cook bolted, and they found one in Brandon Powell. GRADE: B+
RECEIVERS: The Gators added two wide receivers and filled a huge need by signing three pass-catching tight ends. GRADE: B+
OFFENSIVE LINE: In a critical area of need, the Gators signed six, led by highly rated tackle David Sharpe. GRADE: A
DEFENSIVE LINE: The Gators signed five, including elite prospects Thomas Holley, Gerald Willis III and Khairi Clark. GRADE: A+
LINEBACKER: After signing four top LBs a year ago, this was not a position of need. GRADE: Incomplete.
SECONDARY: Cornerback was a huge need and the Gators filled it, led by five-star prospect Jalen Tabor. GRADE: A+
OVERALL: To put together a top-10 class coming off a 4-8 season says a lot about Will Muschamp and his staff — and the Florida brand. Grade: A.

Adoree' Jackson goes to SC. He's not that good, UF really didn't want him, and he's afraid to compete at UF against VHIII and Jalen Tabor. Seriously, Adoree' looks like a good kid that made a great decision for himself and his family.
