1. Dale, great meeting you pre-game. Hope you and your grandson enjoyed the day together.
2. 71k+ for a non-playoff bowl. I'm guessing that's 2nd only to Pasadena. There were plenty of Irish fans there, but I'm guessing it was nearly 2/3 scarlet and gray inside the stadium. Yeah there are plenty of folks who are with OSU all the way win or tie (cooper's best line ever after the '97 rose bowl) but they show up and they didn't sit on their hands yesterday imho.
3. After zeke's 50 td td run in the 3rd qtr made it 35-21, I have to admit that my thoughts were more on what might have been this year. This team was talented enough to win it all, but unlike last year, the 1 stumble in '15 was to a team you couldn't afford to tie in the standings. The Bucks finished the year beating 2 teams who were both top 10 at the time (um could get back there after the uf win) by a combined score of 86-41.
4. My top praise for the fiesta bow goes to osu's d-line. Missing Washington, schutt, and then bosa before the 1st qtr ended, you wondered how that unit would perform. They did well. Hubbard and Lewis both had sacks. Guys who will have a shot at contributing next year like Tracy sprinkle, Donovan munger and Michael hill made their playing time count. If nd had gashed us on the ground the outcome might have been different. Allowing 121 on 31 carries was good enough.
5. Kizer was really picking on whoever Conley was covering all day long. That including the 80 td catch-run by fuller to keep their hope flickering (38-28). But another reason was that Eli Apple had one of his best games of the season on the other side. He had fuller most of the game, and his 5 other catches went for just 30 yds.
6. After some inconsistent play this year, Darren Lee had a really good game. I think he had 2 sacks and caused a fumble.
7. On the other side of the ball, before we started settling for fgs in the 4th qtr, OSU was 10-14 on 3rd down, ending up 10-18 for the game. J.t. Played well. He speaks the ball around, especially early, while zeke still got his 25 or so carries.
8. The slobs. I think this is the best series of outstanding o-lines, 4 years running, since at least the 80s, maybe Archie's era. 285 yards on the ground. I think we had a 21:00-9:00 edge in possession time in the 2nd half (it was around 12:00-18:00 in the first half). Tom Herman is a true talent. You can make a legit argument that Ed wariner is at least his equal, maybe more so, when it come to teaching line technique.
9. Zeke. If there was a heisman for consistent performance over the last 2 years, he would be the top vote getter and it would be close. 3699 yards rushing. 4 tds yesterday. 23 this year. 41 over 2 years. Nearly 7 yds per carry. Another 500 yards receiving. He's in the best ever conversation for this program.
10. This group of seniors went 50-4 in 4 years. No d-1 program has ever won more in that time frame. 3 division titles. A big 10 crown and the first ever cfb playoff title. Not bad. To think it could have been more...
11. And now, you turn attention to next year. Maybe the largest exodus of talent in Columbus since following the '75 season. Counting graduating seniors and all the juniors who 'could' declare for the draft (only Elliott, bosa and jones have to date. Elflein says he's staying), you're talking about replacing maybe 16-17 starters. That is daunting.
11. One final tip of the hat to Braxton. He gave up plenty this year to accept a reduced role, and he didn't nearly get the touches we thought he would. But he was the offense in '12, and he/Carlos Hyde were the engines in '13. That won't be forgotten, how magical that kid was with the ball in his hands.

Just read that on Yahoo__another year here of playing and bulking up would've helped him but understand the dollars are too good to pass up. He'll go in rounds 4-5

Manziel seen in Vegas on Saturday despite concussion keeping him out of todays game with Pittsburg___smh Just read that too. Time to cut him loose. Hate to do it because it means starting over for the umpteenth time at qb, but this guy doesn't get it.

Yep, hate to say it but need to cut him loose___He cant keep a low profile anywhere, he sat down at a blackjack table and a casino employee who checked his photo ID told others at the table, "We've got Johnny Manziel with us tonight"

First there was The Chase, then there was The Grind, betting this fall will be The Reflux
