Found out this past few weeks that if you're over 80, break a hip and are admitted to the hospital, you only have a 50-50 chance of of surviving, even if that is your only health issue...If you should develop a staph infection, or UTI, or a scrape in your esophagus when they insert the tube for your ventilator, those odds drop rapidly. My dad passed on the 9th...he was almost 94. So, if I seem off my game here, or you missed my clever wit last week, that is the reason.

Thanks for the sentiments, I do appreciate it. I don't think it's fully sunk in yet, it will take a while. But, no pain, no troubles...he lived a pretty full life...I hope he's happy.

I know I haven't been on in a while, just want to say I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost mine in 2012 after he battled Parkinsons for 25 years. Mom is still alive. She is 97. She tells everyone she is going to live to be 105. Life is so fragile and no matter what we think, it's never long enough. So live everyday to the best!
