The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up a commitment on Tuesday night from one of the nation's biggest offensive line prospects who was already committed to another major program. Junior college offensive tackle Dominick Jackson, a 6-foot-7, 304-pound prospect out of California's College of San Mateo, changed his commitment to the Tide on Tuesday after previously being committed to UCLA since June 5. “The SEC is where you want to play D-1 ball," Jackson told BamaOnline. "If you can compete there, you can play at the next level for sure. It’s where everyone wants to be. They’ve been the national champions for two consecutive years and they have Coach Nick Saban."
Jackson is rated the No. 1 junior college offensive tackle by the 247Composite rankings and the No. 2 overall junior college prospect in the nation. He also held offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida, Oregon, USC and Texas A&M, among others. He plans to graduate in December and enroll at Alabama in January.
Jackson is Alabama's 14th commitment for the Class of 2014.

I think Lacy is similar in stature to Jerome Bettis or Ironhead Harward, Jamall Anderson. Definitely a load .

Alabama 2014 Commitments ATH Bo Scarbrough DB Kalvaraz Bessent DB Chris Williams LB Shaun Hamilton DB Stephen Roberts LB Zach Whitley DT O.J. Smith OL Viane Talamaivo DT Johnny Dwight K JK Scott QB David Cornwell WR Derek Kief OL J.C. Hassenauer OL Dominick Jackson OL Montel McBride LB Christian Miller LB Keith Holcombe
With National Signing Day exactly six months away, it's time to take a look at where Alabama's 2014 recruiting class stands at the halfway mark of the recruiting cycle.
Total Verbal Commitments: 17
National Rankings: 247Sports: 1 ESPN: 3 Rivals: 5 Scout: 6
SEC Rankings: 247Sports: 1 ESPN: 2 Rivals: 3 Scout: 3
"Blue Chip" Prospects (rated 4-star or higher by at least two services): 14
Defensive Breakdown
Defensive Backs: 3 (Kalvaraz Bessent, Stephen Roberts, Chris Williams) Defensive Linemen: 3 (Johnny Dwight, Montel McBride, O.J. Smith) Linebackers: 4 (Shaun Hamilton, Zach Whitley, Christian Miller, Keith Holcombe) Punter: 0
Analysis: Kirby Smart and his crew didn't have to travel too far outside their typical recruiting footprint to land most of their early defensive commitments, with all 10 coming from the Southeast. Particularly of note is the linebacker group, which features four 4-star prospects and could add another before Signing Day. Alabama has commitments from three relatively under-the-radar linemen who could see their stocks soar with impressive senior seasons. The trio of commitments in the secondary all came early and helped lay a strong foundation for what could the strongest unit in the class when all is said and done.
Offensive Breakdown
Quarterbacks: 1 (David Cornwell) Running Backs: 1 (Bo Scarbrough) Receivers: 1 (Derek Kief) Offensive Linemen: 3 (Viane Talamaivao, JC Hassenauer, Dominick Jackson) Placekicker: 1 (JK Scott)
Analysis: One of the state of Alabama's top athletes, Tuscaloosa native Bo Scarbrough, was the first player on the board for the Crimson Tide's 2014 class and while he's currently an offensive weapon, he could wind up on either side of the ball in college. The offensive class will be built around blue-chip quarterback David Cornwell, a raw but uncommonly talented pro-style passer from Oklahoma. He will enroll at Alabama in time to compete for the starting job following AJ McCarron's departure. Alabama landed one of the nation's top receivers in Derek Kief and will look to add at least one more to that group. But Alabama's offensive power starts up front and Nick Saban and company have begun building what looks to be among the nation's strongest offensive line groups.

BAMA gets big time commit for 2015 class www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/08/alabama_gets_commitment_from_5.htmlAlabama landed a big 2015 commitment on Monday morning, as Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure quarterback Ricky Town committed to the Crimson Tide, according to reports on Rivals.com and 247Sports. Town (6-4, 198), is considered a five-star prospect, the top 2015 pro-style quarterback prospect in the nation and the No. 3 prospect overall by 247Sports and a four-star prospect and No. 2 pro-style QB by ESPN. Park, who also had offers from USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Stanford, Florida State, Georgia, Miami and Texas, camped at Alabama in June and reportedly impressed Crimson Tide coaches. He told Rivals.com Monday that Alabama is "the perfect fit" and he informed Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier of his decision on Saturday. "I like the way they get things done. It's very business-like," he told Rivals. "It's working for them to win that many national championships. The facilities are amazing. Coach Saban is an amazing person. He is someone I would love to be coached by. Also with the success of Coach Nuss, I loved how he coached me and took me under his wing the three days I was there. I just wanted to be a part of it." "I am done with the recruiting process. I am 100 percent Alabama." Town becomes Alabama's fifth commitment in the 2015 class. The others are Vigor running back DeSherrius Flowers, West Orange (Texas) Stark defensive back Deionte Thompson, Columbus (Ga.) Carver defensive end Mekhi Brown and Atlanta-Mays offensive lineman Dallas Warmack

Alabama already holds commitments from five offensive linemen for the class of 2014 but is likely looking to add more to what could be shaping up as the nation's top offensive line class.
One top target that still remains on the board for Alabama is Bellflower, California guard Damien Mama, a 6-foot-4, 370-pound prospect rated the nation's No. 1 guard recruit by the 247Composite rankings. Mama listed his top eight schools on Twitter on Sunday afternoon.
Mama is currently planning to take an official visit to Alabama on November 8 for the Tide's showdown with LSU along with several other elite California prospects that Mama has become close with on the recruiting trail, including Tide commit Viane Talamaivao and tight end Tyler Luatua, whose older brother Isaac plays for the Tide.
Mama earned invitations to the Under Armour All-American Game and The Opening after a dominant performance as a junior at St. John Bosco High School last season
Check out highlights of Mama's junior season in the video below.

Alabama cornerback Geno Smith has been charged with driving under the influence.
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department's online records show the sophomore for the top-ranked Crimson Tide was arrested Sunday and jailed on $1,000 bond. He had not been released as of Sunday afternoon.
Tuscaloosa police referred questions to spokesman Sgt. Brent Blankley, who did not immediately return a call.
Smith played in all 13 games as a freshman during last season's national championship run, and his role on the nation's top defense increased late in the year.
He was expected to compete for the starting job vacated by top-10 draft pick Dee Milliner.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban says in a statement that he "will handle it appropriately once I've had a chance to review the information."

These guys need to learn there are consequences to these type actions. Pretty sure he will sit 1-3 games and have some other form of internal punishment to deal with ( like running or something)
