I've been active on several committees of the principal hospital system for North Alabama for several years. It is rated highly and strives to provide the best care for patients. This is the newest advancement they have made.

Urologist Dr. Joseph A. Pettus just performed the region's first High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) procedure at our Governors Medical Tower. HIFU uses targeted ultrasound energy to destroy cancerous prostate tissue while leaving healthy tissue unharmed, with limited side effects. No incision is required, and patients go home the same day.
We're proud to be the first hospital in North Alabama offering this innovative treatment for patients with prostate cancer that has not spread beyond the walls of the prostate. 💚
Huntsville Hospital is an 881-bed hospital that serves as the regional referral center for North Alabama and southern Tennessee. Huntsville Hospital is governed by the Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville and is the second-largest hospital in Alabama.
